it's nice to see all of these in one place. Thanks for posting!

it couldn't hurt to also have a text list of the caps and quantities to go with each one it make it easier to place orders.

TLDR: If your PSU is blowing fuses it's generally because one of the transistors has gone, and usually the transistors fail due to bad caps.

that's quite a bit of exaggeration right there. There's plenty of useful information here without diameters.

honestly for any given cap list there is usually only one or 2 cabs that are in such a tight spot that it matters, and even then you can usually make it work by simply leaving the lead a little longer so you can shift it out of the way.

While it can be useful to leave a note on the specific caps where height or with may be an issue I don't believe I've ever seen a cap list or map that included diameters for all the caps.
 
if you extend the leads, you increase inductance.
and if you bend them against the rubber bung you compromise the seal and shorten the lifespan.

I recapped all four PSUs with 105°C Nichicon brand caps. I didn't have any issues fitting anything anywhere. All the caps were either the same size or smaller in diameter.

However, should go without saying if you can choose between a short and wide cap or a tall and thin cap, choose the latter as height will not be an issue.
 
I actually have a Sun PSU that stopped working.

anyone here offer services to get it fixed ?
 
I opened my 400-5397-01 Sun PSU today, as I've been having issues with it smelling burnt during summer. Turns out yours truly had wired up the replacement fan wrong and it barely moved. Fixed that, and had a peek at the caps - and they look fine. Hopefully the fan was the only issue. While I was in there, I took out my trusty 10$ ebay caliper and measured the cap diameters.

They all seem to be Rubicon brand, I didn't bother looking up the values as info earlier in thread and @twistedsymphony 's post seem to be spot on (http://solid-orange.com/1465).

hey guys,sorry if it's not exactly the right thread but i figured the sun experts are reading here and people with the same question stumble across this thread as well...

Recently i bought a sun psu on ebay, so far everything works. Should i proactively replace the caps, or should i wait until i run into problems.

I haven't opened it up so far, but the metal case shows signs of corrosion...

Then it should be good, if your caps where bad the voltages would either fluctuate or be out of spec :)
 
how much would be out of spec? :P

But i remember somebody said my voltages were ok...
 
How do you adjust voltage on these psus? I have one that is working with Naomi 1. I’m not looking at it at the moment but are there pots to adjust? Where are they? I’m just curious because I bought a Naomi 2 as “working” and connected it exactly the same as my Naomi 1 and it didn’t work. Seller is accusing me of frying it. I already got a refund so he can’t screw me but I’m curious if it’s even a possibility. I’ve ran the Naomi 1 for hours with no issue connected the exact same way.

See the three holes? First one is for the pot to adjust 5V, the second one is for 3.3V and the last one is for the power LED. You need a small screwdriver to adjust the pots and a multimeter to check voltages. Don't just blindly turn them.
 
also note that the three holes are labeled with some etching on the metal. in the picture you can see there some black ink below them because someone at one point used that for contrast to make them easier to read.
