After @Darksoft posted the Thunder Force AC modified roms at System C2 Conversions, I was eager to give it a go.
I found a $10 board on eBay. This was a bootleg of course.

All IC's were soldered. So they needed to be desoldered and sockets placed again:

The EPROM IC's had to be erased with UV light. I don't have such equipment and doing it by sunlight was not recommendable :D
Hence I found this easy solution, with UV leds, so I recreated this situation:

Erasing took forever, around 1.5 day per EPROM, but at last, they were all clean.
Than the burning process started and voila; a board populated with fresh IC's again. The audio on the board was split over 2 IC's; Thunderforce AC only needed 1. So the 2nd audio IC is simply empty.

The game worked immediately

Happy gaming ^^

I have a World Thunderforce AC is there a way to convert it to the Japanese version by swapping roms ?
I heard the Japanese version is harder and wanted to give it a go .

World / jap is the same keychip so you can burn the standard rom.

As a longtime player of this game i can confirm the jap version feels more complete with extra enemy patterns.
That said, the new enemy patterns will always get ya if the standard version is burned on your brain...

Also adds a bootup sound that's always nice when you've got a slow monitor :)
