Hi!

So.. Just booted a 161in1 multicart and blew the fuse in my CMVS...
Strange as I have certainly used this multicart before, but popped in a new fuse and blew that too...
Checked the rating - i was using 1.6A. My PSU is 3v 2.5A.
Cart aside... (hoping that's not the issue...if was working fine) what amperage would be sensible for a MV-1FZ with Unibios, Audio & Video buffers and a 161in1?

Cheers!

Update: cart tested fine.

The MV-1FZ manual states 7A...

People have tested power draw and it is nowhere near that number.
Miisalo on neo-geo.com tested some power draws here.

+5V audio mod with 120-in-1 multicart 1300mA
I guess with a 161-in-1 cart, audio and video mods I could be higher still (the 120-in-1 runs without issues).

My question is how should i balance the inbuilt fuse against the external power supply? (I'm, using this one).
I guess its easier to change the fuse in the MVS than the PSU, so something like a 2-2.1A fuse?

Ok, blew a 2.0A fuse, but working with a 2.5A one...
Good as that is the max before i transfer fuse protection to the PSU, and that is not something i would like to blow..
The 120-in-1 runs just fine on 1.6A, so not sure why there is such a huge different...

The more ICs on the cart the higher the power draw. This goes for original games too.
