What's new
Hello Team,

I didn’t know where to post my question. I am about to consolize my two slot MVS board and I am looking for a 5 volt 3 amp 2.1 mm jack tip power supply. I want a two piece power supply to save space on a power cord extension. I wasn’t able to find one, on the net. Where is a good place to buy one? What is your take on my desire to get such a power supply?

Thanks in advance.

@Apocalypse:

Thanks for making the Gerber file available for making homemade boards.

Would you happen to know the specific model number of the mezzanine connector sets that would integrate into your PCB?

I've been searching on line and I can't seem to pin point an order-able part number.

Thank you for your help!

@bluebillet I don't use connectors I simply solder to the legs of the existing connectors that stick out a bit on solder side.

@Apocalypse

Thanks for getting back to me. I never through to directly solder to the back legs of the MVS PCBs themselves. I will keep this in mind if I go down this path.

Regards,

I would like to note that these do not work for the 1Fz. The MV-1B uses different connectors than the MV-1fz, and thus needs different adapters.

Notably, the pin order is different, and the pin layout is not mirrored on either side like the 1B

Hello i up this topic to add my test.

Last year i bought a chinese consolized MVS and the MV1B was badly soldered, no sounds etc.. a nightmare.

I bought a MV 1B and asked Apocalypse to change the size of the board to fit my chinese unit. And it works perfectly !

So i can confirm these boards works on MV 1B correctly :

i add links because picture are too big

@KoSLoW, I don't remember if I shared the gerbers here. Could you please attached them in the thread?

As a general information the modifications I made for @KoSLoW were to reduce the overall size of the PCBs so they don't collide with nearby SMD components and increase the lenght of the tracks so there's a bigger gap between the two PCBs of the slot to adapt to his case. I could also reduce the size of the tracks to make the overall thing a bit smaller (I guess gap can be reduced by 0.2" no problem). @KoSLoW can you measure it?

Is there a recommended video encoder to use for HDMI? So far I'm using the Behar Bros. RGB16 board and then running it to the ossc unless there is a better option than the fpga based chipos81 youtube method from 2015.

We will release the VGA16 Scandoubler for the MVS next month. It will have 480p output through component and VGA with scanlines feature. It's an FPGA based internal board.

Nice, any plans to upgrade the unit to support higher resolutions?

Hello i asked neoturfmasta about these boards weeks ago and he told me that was not released by him because of the fiability was not good

@Apocalypse if you have already make your own boards i agree to be a tester... if you can sell me a pair or i can order it online with the files ! I’ts to consolize my MV1FZS

Th mv1fz / s have a white conne tor on the middle so we need to solder it manually.
I've attached the gerber files so anyone can print PCBs.Tested on MV-1B.

[EDIT]
Updated gerbers as per @KoSLoW advice.
Any chance of making one of those for the MV1fZ?

Anyone need some of the MV1B boards that Apocalypse drummed up? Someone asked if I could make a case for MV1B boards using his board, so I bought a 30 pack of boards from JLCPCB since I wasn't in a rush. Was cheaper than ordering what I needed from Oshpark, but now I have tons left over.
