What's new
i unlpluged the maple and whatever this thing is cause they werent being used
WHY?! There is ZERO reason you should remove those, you're simply disabling functionality in your cab that you might want to use later and devaluing it should you ever decide to resell it.

you shoudn't need to touch ANY of the wiring between the IO board and the service panel. If I bought a Net City and someone had removed that wiring I would be PISSED.

It'd be like buying a car and deciding that you don't plan to have any passengers so you remove all of the other seats.
also do you know why these both have two wires going to the kick harness? (old picture before i removed the analog stuff)
You shouldn't be removing these either.

and to answer your question they're just ground loops so the kick connector can have ground pins for the buttons. totally normal wiring.

should i buy the connector here? or do you know a better place to get it? maybe someone sells them with .110 quick disconnects amazon.com/dp/B006ZPH71Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vq8FBb72NPJ2Z
this is what i found when searching rs online

^those are the wrong connectors... they wont work...

here is everything you need:
buy 1 of these:
https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/te-connectivity-amp-connectors/176279-1/A106907-ND/2328021

buy 10 or more these:
https://www.digikey.com/product-det...-amp-connectors/175151-1/A107106CT-ND/3488667

if you need wire buy 22 AWG:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4ZQ3L0

for the quick disconnects buy these:
https://www.focusattack.com/110-2-8...ated-quick-disconnect-terminal-approx-100pcs/
and these:
https://www.focusattack.com/nylon-110-quick-connector-insulation-sleeve-approx-100pcs/

Alternatively Focus-attack sells wires pre-crimped with quick disconnects:
https://www.focusattack.com/16pc-22-awg-wire-with-110-quick-disconnect/

your panel also has incorrect buttons, you should be using these:
https://www.focusattack.com/pushbuttons/popular-brands/sanwa/30mm/

your panel also has incorrect joysticks, you should be using these:
https://www.focusattack.com/joysticks/popular-brands/sanwa/jlf-series/

if you don't own a crimper buy this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002TKG11G
or this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002L6HJ8W\

You should be connecting this new harness into this connector:
Mu8cOko.jpg

and you should be wiring it based on this pinout:
Sega-cp-harness-pinout.jpg
^note that the "kick connector" only has 10 pins, just pretend there is another row of pins on the bottom that you don't use.

it looks like whoever owned that cab and installed the incorrect joysticks also mucked up the joystick wiring... PLEASE fix this the right way, and put back the analog and Maple Bus wiring that you removed... make this cab better don't dig the hole deeper.

i think i originally unplugged the maple when i didnt know if it was being used or not. and in the forth picture on the imgur you can see they actually werent being used. im still keeping these wires of course. arent the analog cables only used for things other than fighting games? i figured i could easily wire it up if i intending on buying games that use it

Yes but the harness between the IO board and the service panel (and the maple cables) are considered part of the cabinet, they're designed to be installed there even when not in use.

You might also consider just buying a complete 6-button panel with the harness already:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-O...836563?hash=item33f2dc0113:g:WUEAAOSwp7RbgjqY

that's the right panel, has the right buttons, the right sticks, and the harness is already built.

i ended up finding a kick harness in a bag with a manual for zombie revenge (which explains the 3shot panel). also if i wanna use jlf’s with this control panel i think im gonna need universal mounting plates. ill probably just wait until jasen’s customs gets these back in stock.
http://www.jasenscustoms.com/Sega-2L12B-Panels--NAOMI-UNIVERSAL_p_45.html

do you know if theres a better place to get 6 button 2p panels?

His artwork is phenomenal.

one problem I have with the repo panels though is they're missing the hooks along the top edge, which means the panels tend to bend and pull up between the bolts. I've yet to see a single repo panel that has these... only ever seen them on original panels.
