Sad, one of my neighbors bought like 50 of these to give away at his son's Bar Mitzvah, fuck it, that guy is rich anyway.

The case looks cool though, I would pay like $20-30 bucks if it was made to fit/work with a RPi.

Hopping on the bandwagon and quick Xmas grab $$$. Still bugs me cause they used a decent ARM, RAM, and case but went totally halfass on emulation...

Bugs me that the company that created the hardware and knows everything about it used an emulator created by other people. Didnt even improve it.

Nice hardware, guessing a nice case, might be hope if/when someone hacks the software.

Yes indeed, I still grabbed one just in case because the case looks solid, the hardware is not that bad. Hopefully it gets fully cracked and is able to be modded for additional, who knows. Still, if its not, Im sure someone will stick Rpi or something else in it

Yeah this thing is bizarre, given the quality of PS1 emulation on the PSP (and Vita) they then go for an open source emulator on this. You would actually be better off buying a vita, installing adrenaline and playing PS1 games on that plugged into your TV with a dual shock 3/4 paired to it. Obvious drawback being the aesthetics (if you was in it for the classic PS1 look).

Its just for the look and ease of use I guess, I have the nes/snes setup for my boy to play, this would just add to that. But, the boy actually likes rummaging thru and changing the carts on the OG consoles, go figure.

Reading a lot about the Classic hacking going on already and it seems the consensus is that the specs of the hardware are pretty good and that most likely the software is what is causing the poor performance people have noticed so far. I'm surprised in the number of different groups attacking the hacking part of this and I wouldn't doubt if a completely new emulator takes the place of the installed one very soon.

It is curious that the hardware has way more power than necessary performance wise but that the storage is JUST ENOUGH for the 20 games installed. Everything inside is BGA so only real option for upgrading storage is external.

Yup, maybe use one of the USB ports with a flash drive or use hub etc...or maybe there is an internal spot to tap usb or additional storage. Agree, with all the stuff going one with this, I’m glad I picked up one just in case.

Yeah pretty much and to think my pre-ordered one is still in the bag >< (I would of returned for refund but only had 7 days from purchase)

Unlike the NES and SNES minis that I bought purely because I'm a Nintendo fanboy (still not out of their packaging, and I honestly don't know if that'll change), I have no draw here. PSX was a good system and all, but I just don't have the same emotional attachment, and from all the reviews it's closer to an ATGames Genesis machine than an S/NES Classic.

That being said... if it gets to like $20-30 I might still buy it

On a side note, I read this article where some guy makes millions a year buying stuff from Walmart, then flipping the goods on Amazon.
