Any idea ? It's not a A board issue since all my other B boards are working great.
It seems your B-board (key writing has nothing to do with A-board) is having an issue receiving/writing the key from a cold boot (I'll often blame this type of intermittent failure behavior on caps).
Remember for infini key to work the PCB must be able to receive said key, any failure in that and of course its not going to work.

Aka this isn't an issue with Infini Key, but and issue with your B-board.

revived a dead SFZ3 board (REV 7) with a infinikey. easy install. Game booted! was super happy. Played for an hour and shut down the PSU.

when i powered on the PSU, green or black or pinkey screen. Game doesnt boot up.

i need to let the PCB " cool " down an hour and then it works again.

if i quick repower on the PCM, same thing: blue screen.

Sometimes the game bootd up to the main screen or player select screen and then the "suicided screen" comes back.

Rechecked 4 times my soldering, everything is mint...

Is the battery removed?

In fact, it seems to be the opposite. Cold boot works but "hot" reboot fails.

sometimes its boots until the select fighter screen and then fails.

of course!

Might be a hail mary, but have you tried removing the solder on jumpers 1/0 completely with solder braid? It doesn't look like they are bridged, but maybe they are ever so slightly.

good news

desoldered everything. Reflowed the 6 pins on the motherboard and resoldered the infinikey.

Now it works! Probably a bad pins connections or a short under the infinikey pcb.

thanks guys

Unfortunately, problem is coming back. I now loose the video signal after a few minutes of play. had a white screen yesterday.

Any idea ? Should i try installing another infinikey ? Cap replacement?

thx

My SSF2X (940223 version) works for about 15mins when 'cooled down' and will suicide almost instantly (within 10 seconds of booting the game) after it's happened once.
Meanwell PSU on 5.04volt (have tried upping it a tiny bit, but power does not seem to be changing this problem at all).

Have tried 2 different brand new infinikey boards.

See pics - any help appreciated.

EDIT: I have de-suicided the board with the infinikey now and gone back to just the battery and the cap to save the key. The board is still playing up, glitching textures and freezing with plain colour screen after working fine for some-time, eg minutes. The problem is apparently not with the infinikey, but with the A or B board. Further testing needed.. :(

EDIT2: OK after stuffing around for long enough on this I eventually removed the daughterboard and pushed all the socketed chips down into their sockets. Reseated the daughterboard and everything is fine. I've reapplied the inifikey and its all working. Guessing as one of the chips warmed up and expanded, it was losing contact somewhere.

Hello!

I've just recently acquired a 19xx and was looking to install an infinikey but when I looked for the gamecode in the list, 19XE isn't an option.

It boots as 19xx 960104 euro and I can't seem to find any information on the web relating to this particular combination for 19xx.

I dumped one of the program chips and tried to run it through romident but it came up with no matches either :(

Is this version of 19xx supported by the infinikey or is this going to be one that I have to maintain the battery for?

Love the product, have done a few others with no issue.

Thanks!

You may have an as yet undumped revision. Could you dump all the program ROMs so we can confirm?

@caius @Hammy are both in the MAME dumping union so can help get it added to MAME if it isn't in there yet.

Hey, sounds like you found a new one! Yeah, like xodaraP said, we have some dudes that can get it submitted to mame. @idc, could you generate a key from these files?

In all likelihood, yeah, but it'd probably be quicker to just submit the dump to MAME, they will be be able to reverse the keys.

do the infikey come with the wires or I gotta supply my own
