So I am going to attempt to add a nicer sound amp to the Vewlix, however I would like to make some connectors/adapters, so I can put the stock back if I wish to do so. I am at a loss on what these connectors are, and their pinout for the speakers.

As you can see, this is a very small amp.

I assume the S connector has what I need with R/L speaker connections, but is that a jst or molex mini fit? I am also wondering about that connector R, but I will worry about that another time.

I'm hoping that someone has done this before and can offer some insight - if not, then I'll have to take the cab apart and start tracing.

I already have power figured out, I am just going to pull ac from one of the unused connectors in the cabinet.

Edit: more pictures of the connectors:

Yo Radiant, you ever figure this out?? Just received my vewlix from KC and i'm looking to do the same.

The "S" connector looks to be a JST XL, and looking at the Vewlix schematics it is for the speakers
Pin 1 Speaker L+
Pin 2 Speaker R+
Pin 3 Speaker L-
Pin 4 Speaker R-

"P" is the power connector
Pin 1 - 12V
Pin 3 - Ground

"R" is for test and service buttons
Pin 1 - Service
Pin 2 - Test
Pin 3 - Ground

Hey guys, I am waiting on parts from JST right now. Hopefully they come later today and I can finish this up. That pinout is correct- derrick helped me with it. I believe that connector is one of the YLR series. We'll know this week.

The housing connector is the problem. It is not the ylr series as they are slightly too small. It is back to the drawing board on finding the right housing.

Yes it is JST XL series like I already mentioned above ;)

And soldering wires to the connector pins works just fine, just makes sure you do it nice and clean and afterwards cover with that black heat shrink tube stuff

I didn't see those- I went ahead and ordered up some. I am going to wire it to that connector, that way its just plug and play (hopefully).

I'm in the same boat - but for making a Vewlix JAMMA loom, I need the inline socket to fit that male plug.
I'm 90% sure the inline versions are:-
  • XLP-04V - 4-pin male plug.
  • XLR-04V - 4-pin female socket.
  • BXF-41T-P07 - Female crimps.
