Hello, I'd like to connect my Jamma boards to an audio amplifier, so I need a line level converter. Can you recommend me a reliable and well built one? there are lots of them, but I don't want to buy a low quality item risking my equipment and promoting "use and throw" electronics.

A DIY solution with gerbers/bom is welcomed too.

Do you know if those have transformers inside? I've seen several types of line level converters, being the most basic ones a simple voltage divider with non-polar capacitors. I'm not sure if I should look for characteristics like galvanic isolation.

My priority is to avoid damage due to using a badly built converter. Other option would be using AV Driver, but I just need the audio part. From the photo it uses the NCS2632.

No idea honestly, I need to order another high/low converter anyways, so I’ll think I’ll just order the same one again.

Or wait a bit and see what comes from your research ;)

I got something similar to this and it works great.

The exact one I got doesnt seem to be available anymore. If you're using rca connections, just splice in some rca heads (male or female, based on your need). I have a rca mono output wired to my supergun, and also use a simple y splitter when pulling audio from mono sources, such as mono jamma games.

Or something like this. You can even see the transformer in there. :)

Just for the record, I've got very good results using two Sony SS-CNE3 speakers wired in series. I found them in a local store for 10€, they are 6 ohm 15 Watts. I think it's ok for the amplifier to use higher ohm speakers, but check it yourself.

Be sure to *not* wire them in parallel, you can check its resistance to be sure before connecting.

Any recommendable high/low convertors from your research? Still need to order an additional one... ;)
