My Namco System 246c R.I.P today

Hi !

As usual I cleaned the case & dusted the motherboard changed the bios battery & ribbon ATA by a new one.


I have all reassembled it started as usual did the right Bip-Bip then nothing.


the DVD player does not start, so I turn off all, I start again & the mother board has started without the beep beep & the DVD player no activity.


I have all checked the connections I am trying with a game HDD no beep beep the HDD acun boot no vibration felt .


the fan starts & at + 5V & + 12 and present on the connector of the molex power cable!!!!

When I disconnect the ATA ribbon, the hard disk or DVD drive starts.


as if the party that manages ATA interferes with the proper functioning of the system

I had a 256 that did this, I couldn't figure out why but assumed one of the customs had come loose and so scrapped it
