Hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. I've done a pad hack on the Mad Catz controller which appears to be common ground. I've got the DPAD wired and all 4 inputs worked correctly and I've got it wired up to my Sanwa JFL. I get all directions individually, Up, Down, Right, Left. But in street fighter 3rd strike I'm getting NO DIAGONALS detected. Can't do jump forward, jump backward etc. It's like the pad is only recognizing as 4 way instead of 8 way right now.

Here's a picture, I've got the JFL mapped to the common ground.

The sticks work fine with Naomi and the standard harness. I can do diagonal jumps in MCV2 just fine.

I'm thinking this is some kind of grounding issue on the Mad Catz pad hack I did. Even if I manually take wires for UP & RIGHT and hit the ground it won't trigger a diagonal jump. It will only trigger the UP or RIGHT individually. Very weird.

If it's a grounding issue, your D-Pad's won't register.

I did my pad hack with a mad catz and it works perfectly fine on a DC

Did you test the controller before hand? Could always be faulty.

What happens when you try to do a diagonal input? Does it only do one direction or none? Does it register the ABXY buttons at the same time?

There's a controller test program you can download from here:
