What's new
Best bet would usually be akishop.jp in Japan who stock both Seimitsu, Brook and many other nice items. My last few orders from them have taken a very long time (2-3 months) and this was pre-Coronavirus.

My last order was a mess and they ended up forgetting to ship me my sticks after 10 weeks of waiting, and only shipped all the other random cab parts I had ordered. It sorted itself out in the end, but not without opening a PayPal case. So yeah. Just be warned. They’re good people, just take a very long time. The benefit with them has always been that their shipping to Australia is very reasonable.

When ordering sticks on eBay, there’s always the possibility of getting dodgy Chinese knock offs. Best advice would be to buy from someone who is involved in the community, such as FocusAttack or ArcadeShock where you’ll find other goodies to help ease the pain of high shipping.

Good luck!

I can confirm you gotta go overseas for Seimitsu. Local places seem to want to try selling you the Zippy joystick which is a (very good) knockoff of the LS32. No Ultimarc stockist in Aus either. Never found a Brook stockist locally either. Ebay or overseas arcade shops are the only places I have found them.

I tried to become the aussie distributor for Brook but wouldn't have been able to compete with aliexpress on price :/

My experience getting ls-32 sticks from akishop.jp matches others here. Really slow.

Is anyone interested in anything from Akishop? I need some microswitches and the shipping will be expensive for just those by themselves.

Thinking of also ordering some buttons. Happy to combine shipping if anyone is interested.

I will almost certainly need some things soon - The new vewlix arrives tomorrow, and it might take a few days to come up with my shopping list though. If you're happy to wait a few days I'm happy to cover shipping from JP to AU, and then courier them to you (should be about $5-$10ish). Not sure how much time and money you'll save though doing it that way?

If everyone chips in for a big order from Akishop, it will without a doubt save money considering it's $8.95 postage Australia Wide for a satchel and dividing up the shipping will be much cheaper!

@mbd send me a PM when you're ready, I'll hold off for a few days. Going to take 3 months to get it here so a few more days isn't a problem :P

@Dzhay let me know what you're after too

Had a couple of people message already so we can probably get a decent order happening and combine shipping :)

Here are a few things I can recommend that are nice from Akishop:

Carraige Bolts (10 pack): These are the little bolts that mount panels on Candy Cabs. Have found it near impossible souring these locally, worth buying a pack if you're doing an order.

JIS Screwdriver: Very handy if you have a Candy. or other Japanese items. Makes a world of difference and stops you from threading screws (JIS is a slightly different standard from what we use). I have this model driver and it's very good.

Hozan Crimping Tool: Considered one of the best crimping tools. Haven't used it personally, but people rave about this one.

RJ45 to PS1 / RJ45 to Dreamcast Cable: These are priced very reasonably. I own both and have no complaints. Work perfectly with the JAMMAizer!, PS360 and other control boards.

Cable Holders: As used on Candy Cabs / panels.

Shin-Etsu Silicone Grease: Good stuff, a dab of this can sometimes make a dull old stick feel like new!

I specfically asked them to stock a JIS screwdriver given how hard to find and expensive they are locally and then I never bought one lol. That's one thing I do need.

I have a HAS Supergun V2.1 (Acrylic case, kick harnes cable) with PSU and Scart video cable to trade for a Nintendo Switch

Any folks in VIC would like to trade Switch for a HAS Supergun please let me know. Cheers

A Nintendo Switch costs around $450+ AUD. Is that how much a HAS/PSU/Cable costs? Just wondering, have never looked at the HAS pricing.

It would cost roughly the same, factoring weak AUD currency, plus shipping, paypal fee, GST, and time to wait for your backorder to be fullfilled.

I would be more concerned about how inflated Switch price is at the moment.

I believe BIG W have them in stock, a friend of mine picked one up from there recently. There was a massive shortage during quarantine, but things are returning to normality thankfully. You can get 5L Isopropyl bottles cheap again :)
