PAL16L8 replacement

Hi,

Does anybody know if a ATF16V8B would work as a replacement for a PAL16L8 IC? I need to rewrite the bprg1 IC on a SF2CE and from what I read, PAL16L8 are long gone; so, if there is a newer and compatible replacement, I'd replace all of the old PALs.

Never heard of a ATF16V8B but GAL16V8 work great and you can download the bprg1 jed file here ready to go on a GAL http://www.jammarcade.net/files/pals/CPS1-BPRG1.jed

ATF16V8B from Atmel are fully compatible with GAL16V8.

Yep I use them all the time. Lattice doesn't manufacture gal16v8b anymore so anything out there is NOS but Atmel makes ATF16v8B and I buy them new from Digikey. All of the Apacalypse multis ship with them.

Can I write the bprg1 info on it just as is, or do I need a different format to write anything in ATF16s? From what I see GAL writting method is different than PAL.
