What's new
You can get blank ROMS on eBay. It will always be a gamble buying chips nowadays, but I am yet to encounter faulty chips (even though they’re most definitely refurbished) others haven’t had such good luck it seems.

Hmmm I don't even know what that means....

Is there a source for these?
JEDEC is a standardized pinout for EPROMs, "non-JEDEC" means that it doesn't follow that pinout.

Lots of games use 27c1001 aka 27c010 style EPROMs that have the JEDEC pinout, however lots of old games use 27c1000 aka 27c301 EPROMS that are the same size but do not follow the JEDEC pinout. there are of course other non-JEDEC EPROMs but those are the most popular.

to make matters more confusing, as is covered in caius's link, some manufacturers (like Macronix) didn't follow proper naming convention so you get 27c1000 ROMs that are JEDEC and 27c1001 ROMs that are non-JEDEC so you have to take into consideration both the model number and the manufacturer.

to make things easy... just buy these:

Namco System 1 use these non-JEDEC ROMs as do SOME of the ROM board variants on System 16. There are others that use them too but those are the two most common examples I can think of.

Wow, learned something new! Thanks guys!

So on the Converted files I have, do ALL socketed chips Minus the Custom, have to be put onto these? It looks like 29 total Files.
