Hello All,

Im new to the Arcade World, and just bought my first CPS3.

to my surprise, when I removed the cage to see the inside the motherboard, I see that have been modded or repaired with some chip.

Can someone help understand what is doing this mod/fix

Thanks in advance

It factory done, don't remove!
My CPS3 board also has 100% that same factory mod.
You can see it here...

DO remove the white plastic battery cover tho... My board didn't have a battery installed under that, but I guess some have/do.
IF you have the battery, snip (out of fear of leaks/acid damage).

Thanks @jassin000 for the feedback. So Im not "alone" on this strange thing.

It thought it was some repair or failed mod.

Extreme thread necro - in case someone else finds this on goodle (like me) and has the same question (like me).
I have two CPS3 boards arrived today, both have this exact same setup, jumper wires and that little teensie PCB (96682A-S) wired in.
Apparently it is a factory thing, I was all set to remove them to remove them until the wiser folks on Arcade Projects put me right
