Sexy parodius just made something weird.

I was testing the PCB i recently just got.

it played fine all from begining to 1st boss.

when it died, there<s a loud explosion sound but....while playing, sound stoped....no more music even if i get back to the menu.
i decided to close the game completely.

i waited a min.
when i booted up again, on Ram check

17G/M 4H/M ---BAD

*did some panic dance*...what the hell it was working just fine !
and then...game restarted.... ram check went all OK.

played the game up to 4th boss.... everything was good...

....so question is...what happened ????

I'm not an expert in any way, but i would first check everything related to power : maybe caps from the board, but also your cab PSU.

Something that doesn't work at some point and just come back to life is weird, or you'll know soon enough that it's dead.

However, my first guess would be a voltage drop or spike that your board didn't like. You can probably do something weird like playing the game a lot and record values of your voltmeter with your phone or something, and see if there's weirdness going on (but it's just an idea, maybe you won't see shit for 8 hours straight of recording and that's still what happened)

Anyone can vouch for this or am i being wrong ?

i'm also thinking that nothing magically repair itself.

It was my first attempt at making a JST/stereo cable.
i checked how was the sexy parodius jst pinout. i think everything went ok
but even with dip switch at stereo... i hear nothing. (mono works great)

i dont see any buttons on the board to adjust stereo volume so i'm a bit puzzled as why i hear nothing.
maybe my cable as problem...think ill redo one from scratch...or unless someone make/sell them
(i don't have all the right equipment to work properly for now.)
so that would help
