What's new
I need to replace the dial taper pot for volume (B1K), but I cannot find any compatible spare with the same space between 3 pins.

Any suggestions to where to find it?

Thanks.
I have looked as well and not found any drop in replacements...You may just have to pop in a vertical 1K pot... And adjust it with a screw driver etc...
T.
Finally, I managed to find a exact replace on Alibaba here:

Seller gonna send me a sample pack. Hope it fits. I will let you know ;)

You should, I have keyed all my harnessen, adapters, fingerboards etc...

Even took out the Dremel once to create a key in a bootleg board that didn’t have one
I do the same...
every JAMMA harness I've got without a key gets one before it's used, and the 2-3 bootleg boards I've had got key slots cut with the dremmel.

@twistedsymphony Were do you get the keys to put into the jamma harness. I would like to do this on a few that i have.

the key is going to be shaped different depending on the connector. I just grab a piece of scrap plastic cut it down and shove it in there. as long as it stays in place and is non-conductive you're good.

Nylon material is ideal so if you have an old scrap harness or something just cut off a chunk of a connector housing.

I have some pre made keys that fit in every Jamma connector.
Not sure but they could be made by Sanwa, I will see if I can track where I bought them and post a link.

Also I have put a solder blob between 2 opposing pins in a Jamma connector to create a key.

I'd buy one of those if you have a spare when you're done.

@PascalP Let me know if you do find those that are pre-made.

It'a called an edge card connector polarizing key.

Do a search at an electronics retailer (digikey / Mouser etc) and you'll find them.

Thanks @Frank_fjs I'm going to to key every single thing possible to make my life a bit easier..

can't find the exact ones I have, which could be made by Sanwa or AMP, really don't remember.

But here are some alternatives, not sure if all fit in the standaard Jamma connector and some are intended to be used with the original pins intact, while some are meant to be installed with the pins removed;

ow, and what I also just thought off what I have done before with a Jamma connector that had the internal pins removed, jam in a jumper from any old PC.
Perfect and super tight fit!

oops, just while I posted the message above, here is the key I use, fit perfect in a Jamma connector with the pins intact;

smallcab.net/keyed-jamma-p-647…05o899t53gvrtc1ol136aqg55
It's made by Hirose (HRS). Japanese game stores sell it as a 'G-PIN':

https://www.tops-game.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=2617

Technically it's for a Hirose edge connector, but should fit most connectors just fine.

I took measurements of it here, if anyone wants to try to model and print one:

Guys, for what is used this ? :whistling:

I have one of the Hirose ones in one of my cabs, wondered who made it or if it came with the edge connector itself. Cool.

@AlxUnderBase it's used to prevent you putting the JAMMA edge on upside down/incorrectly.

The plastic plug fits in the "key" slot cut into JAMMA boards in pin 7, bootlegs often don't have it cut in but official boards do

Is there a schematic around for the Rev14 boards? I'd like to recap mine but sadly I can't just grab a kit from Console 5. Figure it's something to do while I wait for my HAS.
