See if you can try in another B Board, just to make sure it's not the kit.

Cheers.

i dont have another b board only my battery ssf2, what i find strange is i brought this b board off silverfox over on ukvac and he had some strange graphical errors, same as what i now have, could this be caused by a dodgey gpal chip at all?

Yes could be that. Also jumpers. If you post a picture, maybe we can find easier the cause.

I'm bummed... it's been 2 business days and the seller hasn't even packaged up my B-Board...

Yes... I'm impatient.

I'm wondering if the ROM set from Mega is complete, or do you need to add the missing numbers from a MAME set? I'm having the same issues with my kit. I'm using it on a dead MvC1 board. I don't have another board to try this on. I know that my A boards work as it works fine with the other 2 games I have (ssf2x and xvsf)

from the info page here Important Info About the CPS2 Multikit

has complete game files, including all the .02 files..

In short, that link has all the game files needed, no missing files. As long as these games sit on a Micro SD card, formatted as FAT32, in a main parent folder called 'games', then you are sweet. I believe that file extracts into a 'games' folder itself anyway from memory.. and if not, create a games folder and dump the game folders into it.

So how can so many people have the same issue? Could it really be a bad B board? Can one use the that app listed a few posts ago on a MicroSD card with this kit (I think not in my situation, but I'll ask anyway.) Does the battery need to be removed even if you test with a DMM that it is near 0V? I am using a rev 7 board from a Japanese MvC. I had no loading issues according to the LCD display. I am not doing the reset wire, but no on this forum said that it would be an issue.

I will see about getting my hands on a Phoenix board that I don't have to do anything to, or at least a conversion to a newer game like hsf2. Half of me still wishes this was a B board replacement instead of a compliment.

@TechnicalMonkey . Where are you located - maybe you can send it to someone to have a look at for you, and solder on the reset wire for you.

Regarding your battery being "near 0V" - mate I wouldn't trust it. "Near" simply isn't good enough. I would want no charge at all... and besides, If your board is dead, just remove your battery, there is no longer any function for it - just use cutters if you're not confident with soldering/desoldering. Then, short out CC1 capacitor near the battery by using some wire, and crossing it across both legs of the capacitor, to ensure to drain any residual charge (hold it there for even 30 seconds or something). Then do the same to the EXC5 - 3 legged capacitor also near the battery - hold some wire across all three legs/3 pins from the bottom side of the board if you prefer.

Then try load a game again, and hard reset after the game programs. Without a reset wire, I imagine the power off, power on procedure should still work as it did in the original firmware, is this correct @Darksoft ?

Yes. That would still work.

Well, the wonderful folks where I purchased my B-Board from FINALLY printed a shipping label TODAY...

I might have it Tuesday or Wednesday.

>ARRRRGHHH!<

after all your bad luck in this, Karma should makeyour B Board work on the first try....

I sure hope so... I will, of course, be trying it out with the A-Boards I have BEFORE I install the kit to make sure it's fully working (and to test my untested A-Boards).

GOOD NEWS: The B-Board arrived. It's a phoenixed XMEN: COTA B-Board. I plugged it in to the less noisy A-Board I have here....

... it works.

I'm not going to even bother plugging it in to the 2nd one... just in case that one has issues (considering I get two different consistent results from the current B-board with the multi, I figure it's entirely possible to happen.

Now, this other B-Board that I had (that didn't word) was a COTA also... could I not move the phoenixed ROMS from the one I just got and move them over to the other B board and have it work (if the board is even good which I suspect it isn't now of course)?

If it still does not work then contact me by PM.

...AND...

...the asshole sent me a working Xmen: COTA with BATTERY B-Board! >ARGH!<

Dude had TWO B-Boards listed on his site... Xmen vs SF w/Battery still and this one... listed as PHONEIXED without battery.

So I pull it apart and... there's a damn battery.

:(

What to do...
