What's new

Pole Position. Restored with 50 NOS parts by BrentRadio. Repro side art and laminate applied. New monitor. Unfortunately our roof leaked and rain dripped onto it and ruined some of the artwork and killed the game. Need new monitor bezel and marquee. PP1 and PP2 boards are out for repair. Some swelling on left side due to that catastrophic rain event. Not working :(

Rampart. HUO originally resided at Atari HQ in Milpitas. Ultra high precision bearings installed. Lighted trackballs installed. Works

Neo Geo Big Red with 4 slot. HUO. Scored this when my buddy Herbertsmart found (2) of these and gave a heads up the 2nd was available. 4 slot recently repaired and upgraded to Neo Bios. Need to find some nice mini marquees. Working

Astro City 2 Candy Cab. Obtained this from when my buddy Matsu used to import them. Monitor is burn free. The lower front panels could use a good cleaning. Works.
Before getting into dedicated classic arcade cabs, I was big into candy cabs. Had (11) or so at one time. Scaled down to (3). This one and (2) Egret 2s. I used these to play JAMMA and non-JAMMA PCBs with adapters

Egret 2's. Have one in the house and another with the rest of the games. Rotateable monitor. All the candy cabs also have switches installed to reverse mirrored images on certain PCBs. Both have burn free monitors. Have NOS Marquees that need to be installed. Works

Crazy Climber CT. This was the first dedicated game I bought, then was hooked. Didn’t come with legs, but was able to find them at VAS. Love that place. Tried replacing this with an upright, but found I preferred playing the game on this format. Works :)

A fellow collector, who was a huge influence, suggested I purchase this Ardac coin changer from him, when he upgraded to a newer one with more features...

At the time, I was kinda meh....as it takes up space, which is at a premium.

But have grown to appreciate having it as it adds to the overall gameroom vibe and looks kinda cool. It’s also functional as the games are set to quarter operation.

Welcome back! I think I met you in (2005?) through Matsu I think? Long time ago. Looks like you got a nice space going on these days!
Thank you, yes I remember your handle on KLOV. Matsu was the man back in those days. I kept these games at the same storage facility in Walnut where he received and sold his candy cabs. He used to let me cherry pick from his shipments. Good times :)

Matsu no longer imports cabs but has a boba shop, a beautiful family and is doing well :)

Not into Mr. Do! game-wise but I love that cab! Never seen one and the design just slays with that early 80's vibe. And that sit down spy hunter is straight fire. You got a lot of heaters in your collection man.

Thank you West :) Mr. Do is pretty fun (at least imo heh) but I also have lots of nostalgia for it as I played it a lot back then. Mostly encountered it at liquor stores oddly. Mr. Do's Castle and Mr. Do's Wild Ride are also pretty cool also. Have the PCBs with adapters. The rest of the Mr. Do titles don't do a thing for me though, lol.

Thanks to @fatherpain I discovered several games I knew the names of but never got a chance to really enjoy. Anytime I would find the game in the wild it would be either a busted ass cab or emulated. His cabs are all pristine examples of how the games were intended to be played. Really glad to see the games fired back up and the arcade buzzing once again.

As previously mentioned, I'm hosting again this Friday from 7p to 12 midnight. If interested in attending please lmk, either here or via PM. My preference is for attendees to be covid vaccinated, if possible. I am limiting the number of attendees, so if unable to attend this one, there will be future dates as well.

Andrew, you really need to try Crazy Climber or Bosconian this time around... Super underrated, fun games. BTW Zeke's Peak has been moved back into the gameroom and is waiting for you.
