Damn ^ SSV Multi! I’ll take one!

Which boards are suitable donors?

There are different motherboards. A search on the forum will bring you the info you seek.

@lydz007 — Will this work with Storm Blade motherboard?

The motherboards are the same, the rom boards are different. But this is a replacement rom board.

I think 12 in 1 could cover all the good games on the ssv. (Skipping the quiz, mahjong, pachinko games.) Do you plan to build that anytime?

Change air blade
Drift out 94
Dyna gear
Eagle shot golf
Mobile suit Gundam*
Monster slider
Storm blade
Survival arts
Twin eagle 2
Ultra x weapons
Vasara
Vasara 2

*gun game, and I forget where the gun io would need to be…

Ah, that’s right @ekorz - from memory Storm Blade had extra components on the ROM board which might explain why it’s not on this multi.

There are actually 2 mobo revisions. the early rev was only used on Survival Arts, Dyna Gear, and the Super Real Mahjong Games IIRC, however both should work for all games. I've heard reports that Vasra/Vasra2 doesn't work properly on the older revs but in my own testing I've found that to not be the case.
the only way to tell them apart is the model number silk screen: STA-0001 is the early rev and vs STA-0001B is the later rev.

I wonder how good this multi is. Any scapegoats? Not that I need one as I have them all already. Hardware is reliable as long as you don't knock the massive heatsink on the graphics custom and remove any battery to stop corrosion imo. Funny thing is the game will reset on almost any error.

This multi is worth it just for change air blade as thats like Hens teeth and almost every game is super fun. There are a lot of Mahong games on the same hardware and the motherboard is different with the jamma edge on the horizontal side rather than vertical side. All the motherboards for the playable games are all the same.

iirc my storm blade had a unusually dense amount of mask roms on it. Made it very heavy. It also has a battery that doesn't do anything apart from corroding the board.

no, the motherboard is not different. There is simply an adapter board on the Mahjong games. I know because I own 4 of them.

Hi : all

It works on an original dyna gear motherboard with rom board pcb removed.
Also works again with survival arts pcb. However i bought the 2 seperate rom boards. With change air blade, the other with vasara 1 / 2.
I only had issues with change air blade due to a overheated rom smd chip.
I have not spent much time using vasara 1 & 2. But it seems to work fine.

Yes you are right, the filter pcb. I also have one. Looks like i have mistaken this for ssv hardware . No idea why it looks completely different.

the Super Real Mahjong Series bounced around, PIV and P7 were on SSV but P5 and P6 were on Seta hardware unrelated to SSV

the only non Mobo/ROM game on SSV hardware is Ultra-X-Weapon, it's essentially an all-in-one board. The most interesting thing about this "x-in-1" board is that it plays Ultra-X-Weapon on a normal SSV. It looks like it requires upgrading the RAM on the Mobo to play it though.
