These are exactly the same size and feel of a ¥100 coin. They work on all acceptors without any modification required to the coin mech.

I’ve struggled to find a bulk supplier of 100 yen coins - I’m still looking but I came across these recently and was struck by how accurate they are in size and weight. Unlike the other arcade tokens in my collection, these ones do not require any modification to the coin mech.

I imported these from Japan and they are in ‘circulated’ condition so some small scuffs and signs of usage is visible.

Tokens are ultrasonically cleaned before shipping.

Get in touch for my complete list or follow my collection on Instagram https://instagram.com/gesentokens

Ships from UK so please PM for shipping price.

Edit 21/02: Due to the controversy around these particular tokens, I have decided to remove them from sale. I’ve been informed you can find these much cheaper for sale elsewhere.

A 900% markup.. ouch

GLWYS!! Lol..
Sir, have you ever ultrasonically cleaned before? Very labor intensive. Very costly solutions. This man should be charging $10/token, not $1. And even then it'd be a BARGAIN!

I am in for every last token. Shoot me a PM, OP. Will be relisting them immediately at $13 per.

Firstly, thanks for checking out my thread! My bad!! I bought these from Japan in good faith, I was not aware they were on sale on Ali Express so can see how these prices look stupidly inflated!

Anyone that thinks I would knowingly post a marked-up cheapo Ali Express item on a specialist forum and not expect to get found out needs to think again.

I have found obtaining 100 yens very difficult as I believe it's illegal to send physical currency out of Japan and these coins are a great alternative especially for folks that don't wish to modify their machines. I'm selling my surplus tokens that I accumulate on the road to building my arcade token collection (you can find me on instagram at @gesentokens (https://instagram.com/gesentokens), which has become a huge side-quest whilst restoring an Tecmo New Astro City and Astro City cabs. I am not a business seller, everything I make goes back in to my arcade addiction/hobby - my next step is powder coating my candy cabinets.

I do have other tokens, all acquired from Japan - like others, I do not want repro stuff. I am not hugely active on this forum but have used it as one of my essential resources for a long time so hoped making these tokens available would be useful to others - I did not realise it was a rule of this forum to be super active in order to post items for sale. Perhaps the mods can clarify? No one is forcing anyone to buy anything here, as Rule 6 states - price policing is not allowed! Nevertheless, I am going to keep this post up so anyone else that wants to pile on and demonstrate their knowledge of the subject.

You can see from your own Ali Express search that NONE of the other tokens I have for sale are on there. They are all imported from Japan.

I have plenty of great tokens to share and I'd love to give them away if I could but I have machines to restore! If people want to check out my marketplace posts i'd be delighted. If you can find cheaper elsewhere by all means, please go elsewhere!

I love the way an experienced and longstanding member hiding behind an anonymous forum identity has jumped straight to insulting me - you would not dream of doing this to my face. You have incorrectly made an assumption and called me a 'joker'. I will gladly forgive you for this mistake in exchange for you so effectively policing my prices - which I understand is against Rule 5 of the forum. Good on 'yer!

Please stop by my instagram and check out what I have been collecting - there is well over 1000 unique Japanese game centre tokens in the pipeline and am always looking to expand my collection.

Thanks guys!

Dan M.

😂

Please let me know a reliable source to acquire 100 yen tokens!?
Ridiculous that a real 100 yen coin, that you can buy stuff with, is .74 US cents on the currency exchange and this jokers asking $1 for a token.

Are these different from the ones on aliexpress? Those look “circulated” also and indeed work with a few of my mecs, but were magnetic enough to require me to reverse or remove the magnets from some other mechs. https://m.aliexpress.us/item/3256804110832071.html
They do look similar! Mine are from Japan! These ones go through an Asahi Seiko 100 yen coin mech with no issues. I am not sure about other mechs out there.

You may have not done so knowingly, but I am extremely skeptical that these are tokens that were actually "circulated" (used) in Japan. Designing the coins in such a way that they resemble legitimate currency is not something that any Arcade in Japan would do, and as far as I can tell, nobody had seen any tokens like this before they popped up on Aliexpress.

If you have evidence to support the pedigree of these tokens, e.g. what Arcade(s) they were used in, please post that information. I'll gladly admit my mistake if such information surfaces. Otherwise, the only possible conclusions here are that you were either tricked into believing they were legitimate Arcade tokens, or you're now feigning ignorance because you were exposed as an Aliexpress flipper. Either way, doesn't look good for you.

You're correct that price policing is not allowed, but that won't stop people from doing it in certain cases. This particular case (i.e. your case) appears to be one of someone who doesn't participate in community discussion solely using the marketplace to flip Aliexpress tokens at a massive markup, which is... not exactly admirable behavior. It looks really bad. And you got called out on it, rules be damned.

If you have issues with people price policing, I would encourage you to report the posts to the moderation team.

This is definitely not true. You can order physical Japanese currency from your local bank whenever you want to. I do it all the time.

You can see from your own Ali Express search that NONE of the other tokens I have for sale are on there. They are all imported from Japan.

For your sake, I hope the Internet detectives on here don't discover otherwise.

No thanks.

Oh look, a tough guy.

Don’t need your “forgiveness” — I just said it’s cheaper buying real currency than these tokens. Not really price policing, XE.com and exchange rates isn’t something peeps don’t know about.

Sorry for calling you a joker, but honestly you’re a bit of a clown saying that it’s illegal to send currency in the mail from Japan, but sending 50% of a counterfeit coin isn’t?

I feel like it could violate some currency law for them to be that size, non magnetic, and manufactured within Japan where a real coin is that size. Would perhaps qualify as a slug but IDK if Japanese law mirrors US with anti-slug laws. It is hard to google rules about actual coins with crypto around.

Yeah I longer care about your currency..

Let’s see those cabs you’re planning on coating.

I stand by everything I said. Some people choose to assume the worst in people and that only reflects on them. I will settle this on Fightcade soon I’m sure!!
