Another positive experience with @Enskynet He repaired an (apparently minor) EEPROM error on his Dragon Blaze at my request before shipping. Communication was excellent throughout, and he once again used a big outer box to protect the PCB from Ace Ventura. Thanks!

Got it. Does the lock+latch have any vertical play? I.e. can you pull or push to free it from the locking bar?

Welcome! I'm having trouble envisioning the situation entirely. Still, I can imagine how the locking bar could become caught on an unsecured cable. Forcing it could sever the cable. Can you fit a phone camera + flash through the service hole to see what's going on? With visibility, a semi-rigid...

My 400-5198 wasn't quite as bad, but hid the electrolytic fluid the same way. The caps were packed really tightly against the PCB, trapping/hiding the bad stuff.

True. But… IANAL, but I’ve worked with (and been raised by) corporate lawyers. IP infringement and enforcement is not black-and-white. If a company doesn’t protect its IP in a small case (e.g. ROMs or bootlegs for original hardware), it may get used against them as precedent in a more damaging...
