Naomi Pi 'WiPi Netbooter' - compatible with Pi 3&4

Is there any way it might be possible to integrate high score saving across games via the Pi at some point in the future? I wondered if if might be possible for the Pi to write to whichever file contains the hi-score data whenever it loads in a cart, but I suspect it's not technically possible...

Naomi Pi 'WiPi Netbooter' - compatible with Pi 3&4

extremely n00b question, but is it possible to use the build in the OP with a non-wifi based Pi loader for Naomi 2? Basically, I want to use this version as it has the loading times reduced etc, but my Pi is one of the old ones with the basic LCD screen. Will it still work if I install this ver?

replacing scsi cd-rom drive with scsi sd card adapter?

Looking to replace my CD-drive for the SCSI2SD. But which of the two versions should I buy? The v5.1 or the v6? They seem to have slightly different features and sizes. Any help gratefully received.

    NESICAxLive2 on TTX2?

thanks for the thorough replies everyone. I have a Fast IO and PCIE, so might be time to wade into setting up a dedicated arcade pc w. attract mode etc. tbqh I find PC-building an extremely non-enjoyable headache -- is there anyone you guys could recommend who sells arcade PCs pre-built?

    NESICAxLive2 on TTX2?

I appreciate that NESICAxLive2 is very much alive and kicking in Japanese arcades running on TTX3 hardware, so we are probably years off public emulation, but just wanted to know whether the games for the service might, technically, run on TTX2 hardware? (essentially, I just want to know whether...

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

Ha! That is super interesting. Can you say which games do this? I'm guessing the SF4 titles all use fast/io correctly i.e. not emulating it?

    Fast IO to Jammafier

I tried this today with SSFIV, and I'm afraid it didn't display after the 2 mins. The issue for me isn't that the game is not loading, but that the system seems to be switching to a resolution incompatible with my 31htz screen when I click to load certain games from the frontend. I can always...

    Fast IO to Jammafier

Having run a few tests across two TTX2s I'm pretty sure a hardware issue rather than a software one. I reckon the DMAC might have a problem (frustrating as this is the part I specifically bought a second board for!) The Fast IO DMAC has a six pin male connector on the side of the PCB (see...

    Fast IO to Jammafier

Any chance you could let me know the dip settings on your Fast IO? Also, are you plugging the cab's video connector directly into the TX2 (rather than going through the Fast IO)? SSF4 displays fine when I run straight into JVS -- it's only when I'm using the Fast IO that I can't see a picture.

    Fast IO to Jammafier

Still struggling to get this working. Niko's multi loads with no issues, and about half the TTX2 games run exactly as they should through my Fast IO set-up. But some (.e.g BF, SSFIV) show a blank screen on load (when loading in the monitor switches off and on, as if it's changing resolution.)...

Taito Type X2 Upgrades and Mods

The OP's recommended Toshiba SSD is a little out of date now (no longer for sale on amazon, even from 3rd party sellers). Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent size SSD for the TTX2 that's currently on the market, and known to work without issues?

    Fast IO to Jammafier

The long and winding quest to install Fast IO in my JVS cab is coming along. I managed to pick-up a TTX2 unit with the Fast IO DMAC, and this morning the Fast IO jamma board arrived. I've plugged everything in (slightly guessing which connections to use, as there isn't much documentation around...

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

+1 for being able to map the exit keys to P1 start + Button 1 (most people I know who run MAME in cabs etc use this combination to exit to front end). Thanks for all your work on this, Niko.

    Fast I/O PCI-E board alternatives?

Ha! Ack, I figured as much. Might have to bite the bullet and pick up a TTX2 with one installed. Frustrating for a part that probably cost less than two dollars to manufacture :(

    Fast I/O PCI-E board alternatives?

Long shot, but are there any off-the-shelf alternatives to the official Taito Fast I/O PCI-E board? They seem pretty impossible to buy separate from a TTX2 machine with one preinstalled.
