Just a passive wired converter works well with the hd cables for me, just remember to wire csync from the din8 to composite on the din9. I didn't bother wiring audio on mine and just used the CPS2 stereo RCA into the HD cable 1/4 input.
1.7 working great! Really well thought out and easy to build, appreciated the RGB tuning pots!
Just finished doing a Darksoft multi on a Marvel vs. Capcom B board with it. First time doing SMT, just took my time with a TS100 and fine tip and it worked out.
I cut up a mini din 8 data cable...
If its not too off topic, whats your design process like for minigun (and I guess sentinel too)? Are you starting out in EasyEDA or is there a step on paper or other tools before? Non-PCB prototyping? Just interested in how you got to this point. Seems like the availability of cheap and fast...
Turns out this is a bad idea. The HD retrovision genesis cable uses composite for sync not csync.
I'm using a Retrotink now and don't have any scart stuff yet, guess its time to try a shinybow?
Batch of 1.7s on the way from JLC!
I'm planning to use a HD retrovision Genesis cable on this but didn't change the board up to din9, instead got a din9 jack and din8 plug from console5 to make a quick converter dongle for the cable.
Looks like the minigun din8 has a +5v pin so I can get power...
