I installed a 2.1 PC speaker system in my AWSD, a logitech Z533 which has 3 autoswitching audio inputs, volume/bass regulation. The jamma mono and amplified stereo goes through one of those cheap audio attenuators for cars and I can use line level from Naomi and other boards.
The result is...
It has been a while since I had the Wei-Ya, is your 15kHz source a JAMMA board that routes through the small VGA adapter board at the bottom of the cab?
Otherwise it perhaps might not like to be fed V-sync.
For some boards (I think Neo-Geo) you had to connect a small connector labelled "D" to ty...
Since you referenced PFX schematics in that repair, could you share the schematics?
I've uploaded a very low res scan long time ago to the AO wiki but always on the lookout for something better ...
I know these are very difficult to find but Taito did make a down scaler specifically for X2.
I've uploaded a scan of the manual and added some missing pre-settings information on the Arcade Otaku wiki page: TAITO up down scan converter
It's the same board that came with the Vewlix JAMA kit but...
Hmm, never seen a "System Menu" screen mentioning "Australia version" before like in your picture, can you switch the multibios (assuming that is what you have) to Japan?
Hi @chunksin
I currently use a small module (PN532 NFC USB Module - Type C, https://tapto.wiki/NFC_Readers) for my MisTer with TapTo that is perfect for building into the card reader of my AWSD cab but unfortunately it does not appear to work with WiPi.
I assume it might be due to it not being...
Both inputs accept 15/24/31kHz signals, the difference is indeed the input impedance. For example the 6-pin CN101A will also accept an amplified 31kHz signal (e.g. from Invzim's JAMMA expander over the JAMMA edge with mister set to output 31kHz).
PFX is single focus, the original tubes in AWSD are dual focus so the PFX chassis will not work with the original Samsung or Philips AWSD tubes.
I have seen a thread in the monitor section on this forum modifying a Toshiba chassis that would then work with those original tubes.
edit...
Hey, that's my picture and design of the second tray made in stainless steel !
The first one went straight in my AWSD and never left it.
The design is free for anyone to use, good luck with your endeavor and yes shipping is always a killer.
Well, I don't disagree that's the whole point of getting as accurate emulation as possible but there are cases where rotating the monitor is not an option :P
I tried with just setting the "video_mode=6" and the expander OLED display states 31.xkHz output and the SyncGuard states OK (set to...
Hi, I've been trying to display vertical games rotated on my horizontal tri-sync using the jamma expander but it does not look like the "vga_scaler" works with direct video.
I was able to rotate the output using the VGA port on an analogue IO board though using that "vga_scaler" option.
Is there...
USB hub for sure and while you are at it, a clean 'hard' non-cable solution for the USB-C connection to that hub, similar to what the ultimate mister USB hub uses (https://ultimatemister.com/product/usb-hub-2-1-with-cables-and-bridgeboard/). That particular hub design also has a wedge pin design...
Is it possible to change the SyncGuard settings to allow 31kHz for those that use a tri-sync monitor?
(not just for case above but eg. also for running tate games on a horizontal screen in 31kHz if one is too lazy to rotate the monitor)
