    PGM charging circuit question

Found some time to check this today, results (this is basically a brand new battery): start: 3.20V 15min: 3.02V 30min: 2.97V 45min: 2.95V 60min: 2.93V 75min: 2.91V Good to hear it's not supposed to be that short for PGM, this unit certainly has something wrong with it then. Also, interesting...

    PGM charging circuit question

Now I found the third coin cell to be dead after around 10 days :P I was checking for the dead battery somewhat infrequently by the way, so I think it's very likely the previous 2 also didn't survive much longer than that... I'm actually not entirely convinced of that, here's someone's original...

    De-protected PGM games

So, I tried this version today and it seems similarly fussy about the initial NVRAM state as the version that was used before the iq_132 patch - on my first try it crashes right after copyright screen on both version A and version B (version A with a weird error misaligned by half a screen...

    PGM charging circuit question

... so, after less than two months of this setup, I can tell it works but not for very long, I already went through 2 coin cell batteries (and I know there's some confusion with bootleg carts not holding the data vs dip switches or bad nvram state, but there's no doubt about it, the battery...

Any PGM Conversion info out there?

For the sake of being thorough, I'll mention that I gave this cart another go today - I thought that maybe there is a chance it's just those 74LS139N's on the char board that went bad so I soldered in new ones today. Sound was improved (it was recognizable now, just a bit scratchy), but sprites...

    Home Arcade System

This is AULT SC200, and it apparently used to be a very popular supergun power supply, at least if this 2005 forum thread is to be believed, so I guess there could be some value if lots of people have these laying around, but I think this thing has been long discontinued.

    De-protected PGM games

That's what I would guess but I don't actually know :P I just tried ddp_j.bin with first megabyte swapped for DDP3 bios but this just straight up doesn't boot at all for me, I get a black screen. I think someone more knowledgeable would have to chip in at this point. I think a good question...

    De-protected PGM games

Okay, I think that might be my fault, I think rom_gen.py does something else than you're describing - from what you're saying we're supposed to replace the first megabyte of the ROM with the DDP3 bios, but rom_gen.py inserts it into the first megabyte but shifts the rest (so in this case I guess...

    De-protected PGM games

Okay, I tried the DDP3 bios (thanks for the tip!) and this one is a bit better than the gladiator bios because it also skips the screen that tells you that system time is not set - added this one at the end of the rules section in rom_gen.py: # DDP3 no intro bios...

    De-protected PGM games

By total coincidence I was trying to achieve that exact thing today and this seems to work (but I didn't test it together with the char board yet, so I'm not sure if this is 100% correct). Add this to the rom_gen.py at the start: # IQ_132 dual version...

PGM single game PCB assembly and troubleshooting

I think it's the one at the bottom of this page: https://igspgm.com/engtrans/index.htm (with the disclaimer that I haven't tried this yet, but I think that's what you're asking about :P )

    PGM charging circuit question

Thanks you both for the answer, I opted for removing R24 since it seems simpler (and well, I don't have that diode at hand), but with the PGM turned on I'm still measuring 2.5V across the battery holder (so lower than before but still not zero), is this expected? Doesn't this indicate that it's...

Open Source USB2DB15 for Supergun adapter

I don't think this is right, I think you need to in fact provide it with 3.3V which is why the bill of materials includes a 3.3V voltage regulator (REG1117). In particular I think this is due to the host shield, at least the aliexpress listing I bought it from mentions it only works properly...

Open Source USB2DB15 for Supergun adapter

My understanding is that these pins are for programming the AVR microcontrollers, e.g. see: https://docs.arduino.cc/built-in-examples/arduino-isp/ArduinoISP/#how-to-wire-your-boards But normally you shouldn't need them because Arduinos are already preprogrammed with a bootloader that makes it...

    PGM charging circuit question

To resurrect this thread a bit, I also have a revision 1 board that someone worked on before, and had a battery holder installed, and sure enough there's like 4.7 volts across it so the charging circuit was not disabled. What is the proper mod for this revision? This thread mentions both adding...
