Which PCB are you referring to? I checked my messages here and the only one I found with @Strikers1945guy was one asking about an Ibara in 2023 that went to someone ahead of me.
I did read something about PicoPSUs ptentially having issues with the soft power switch not working properly. Is there anything I need to be aware of to avoid running into that issue?
I'll check that out
The fuse was actually unbroken. I read that the crackling sound might be caused by arcing between components and part of the PSU board did look a bit burnt so I'm assuming that's indeed what happened.
My machine had a recapped original PSU so I thought I'd be ok for a while but it gave a nasty crackling noise when I turned on the power switch today and promptly died, so I need to figure out a good replacement option. I'd prefer to avoid external modifications if possible and also keep things...
Well, it turns out there was a firmware flaw in the 1st production batch of these that causes it to not work properly when running at 16MHz. I guess that means I'm in the market for a new RAM expansion card...
I've installed an Etarikashikoshi Midi & 8MB RAM expansion card in my newly acquired X68000 XVI and while the Midi is working fine, the RAM doesn't appear to be recognized. I used the switch command to change the RAM to 10MB, but memtest68k still reports 2MB. Does anyone have any suggestions as...
Thanks for offering, but I think I really do need to keep a hard limit on having only 1 CRT until I have a bigger house. The D24 I've got is already too much by any reasonable assessment, and the house is becoming increasingly overcrowded by baby stuff.
The VGA adapter actually came with the XPC-4. That scaler works fine but the OSSC Pro has issues syncing unfortunately. It turns out that later revisions work correctly but I've got the 1st revision which requires a mod to process the sync correctly for the x68000.
Actually, it turns out I have an adapter already that should work. I'll double check the pinout to be safe but I probably don't need to buy anything else then.
At the moment I think buying another monitor is out of the question due to space constraints, but from what I've read it sounds like either an XPC-4 or OSSC Pro should do the job for me so that's the route I was planning to go. Where are you able to buy those VGA adapters from that has express...
I picked up an x68000 XVI and most of the extras I was after but am still in need of a VGA adapter. I found a few adapters available but shipping to the UK looks to be quite slow for all of them. Would anyone have a spare or know of a good option available in the UK?
No progress figuring out the actual cause of this but I was able to use an OSSC Pro to HDFury X4 as a workaround to get a clean image out of these problematic boards on my D24. It should be pretty low lag but I'd still prefer a simpler solution if I can find one since it seems a bit silly to...
