Does anyone know of a way to output the very odd signal from the Chihiro to a TV? I've seen people have some luck using an Xbox Av-cable, but that seems to result the color green going bye-bye. Is there a converter being made somewhere...?

No, I definitely believe you. I had it in my head that they could, but I have absolutely no reason nor historical precedent to suggest that I know what I'm talking about ;D Probably I've just confused the actual Chihiro with a Tri-sync in a cab with a Chihiro.
