First time seeing Captain Commando for me was at Capitol Flea Market (AKA: Capitol Drive-in) in San Jose at the snack shack at the center of the complex. It was so fun that my friends and I decided to sneak in when the Flea Market turned into a drive in movie theater just so we could play Captain Commando at night. The San Jose area had some legendary arcade gaming spots that weren't actually arcades being that the US divisions of all the big video game publishers were located in or near San Jose, including Capcom. Most arcades had mainly big ticket games. Though Captain Commando was excellent, it wasn't a big ticket game. You could always find the big ticket games at the arcades, but the excellent non-big ticket games were scattered about. You could always count on Capitol Flea Market for those games though, like Captain Commando.
