What's new
Is it just me or is the audio level different between CPS1 games? Was playing some games then switched to Magic Sword and it was so freaking loud :D
Wouldn't surprise me as this happens to me when changing games on MVS all the time and annoys me to no end as I have to open the cab and reach down to the slider.

Its not you... If you have the A-board vol dial turned up, but the multi's vol dial turned down... that will happen.

A-board = ADPCM sound (CPS1)
Multi = Q-sound (CPS1.5)

Or did I read that wrong and you are saying between two CPS1 games you are getting radically different vol levels?

Nah not comparing with CPS1.5 - comparing between 2 CPS1 games. Magic Sword has pretty obnoxious audio, maybe it's just that.

I never really noticed a difference in CPS1 games, I should load up Magic Sword and see for myself.
I automatically assumed it was CPS1-vs-CPS1.5 as they have two different vol pots.

To me it feels different between CPS1.5 games too, Punisher maybe a bit quieter than C&D?

Got my LCD housing and long ribbon cable to be able to properly mount the multi into its permanent home. Pretty stoked about this! Next up is wiring in a Q Sound Amp and the dip switch extender.

That is a beautiful thing to see

For those that are using Marqs CPS2 digiAV HDMI adapter, this would be important, since it taps into the digital AV signals on the A board, I don't think they will get sound for the CPS1.5 games.
Qsound gives only digital data out using the I2S protocol. That signal goes to the TDA1543 which separates it into 2 channles and converts it to Analog. If you want to tap into the digital, then the best point is at the entrance of the TDA1543.

Thank you!!!!!!!

@Epyc since you are speaking with Marqs about this, let him know.

Getting my lcd case ready for this, I never liked the way the cable connected to the front. Hopefully HSS will ship soon.

@Darksoft , thanks for the response. Marqs had additional questions qsound games.

No, they don't work simultaneously. Either one or the other. Actually the A board on CPS1.5 doesn't have the sound section populated as it's not needed at all.

Just got shipping notification from HSS, should be here Friday 😃 played around with the lcd case and made it longer so I could store extra cable length inside it just in case I mount it to the multi somehow.

you know you are going to have to send me 5 of those now :D
I'm holding off to see what case designs become available before I get another LCD holder (I have two already for CPS2/F3).
I doubt any of the future cases will make use of the part, thats the only reason why.

Currently I'm using the bottom half of my custom CPS1 metal case.
The top half actually fits the height, but not the width (Multi is wider than CPS1 A-board which is really unfortunate as ALL current cases are based on A-board footprint).

@Derick2k Heh I am going to order some too (unless you have a pair to spare) ;)
Maybe the yellow makes it unique/identifies it as first run DS multi, but damn I need my cables to match my ports.
