1. You are waiting for a video. sorry been busy not done any video's recently.

2. You have not paid for the repair, only the replacement RAM chips and the previous Lethal enforcers sound chip that you already have back.
The "drink for doing the job" and return postage still needs to be sorted.

3. You did not reply to me for ages either.

you did say you was going to send me a video before i paid that was a month ago and ive messaged you since and not had a reply.. Is it working ? have you managed to make my video..
Would be nice to see the repair working before i pay if thats ok

Yep so it's still at square one of the above , you are waiting for a video.
Nagging in public saying you have done step 2, when you have not won't get anything done faster.

I did explain that it was working and has had yet another clean (needed to remove flux of the ram chips, and the remaining capacitor juice)

The board needs checking over, firing up, and a video done.
The test bench is being used at the moment for building... When that is done and the table is clear i'll be back to reps + videos.

so who's fault is the delay? Covid? or the Russians? LOL
:P

i'd actually forgotten about this thread - if it was my board i would not have forgotten :)

It's the board's fault for being a capacitor rotten POS :P

Nobody forgets anything on repairs, they nag day in, day out... :(

"capacitor rotten POS" ??
could be worse,
i mostly get NiCad rotten POS :(

Ive sent you a pm hammy, ive not forgotten just left you to it as you said it needed another wash> Any progress or any videos mate

The PCB is clean now, but that can't be said for the workbench LOL
I'll try to get a video up this week sometime providing it's not taken a big crap during the multiple cleaning rounds (it's a good soak test LOL).

Did it survive the cleaning process ? I’m super keen to get this rev x cab back to life

I'll have a look tomorrow! Had some unexpected friends and family around over the weekend!

I've fixed a couple of these boards... They suffer from 2 common ailments: 1) Spills corroding things as the board is mounted in a bad place in the cabinet... and 2) the capacitors leak and the electrolyte eats traces.

I absolutely hate working on them as desoldering leaking caps stinks the shop up like I was next door to a fishmonger's dumpster.

NOT HAD TIME, PLEASE WAIT.
ALSO ASKING REPEATEDLY NAGGING MAKES THIS FEEL LIKE A CHORE, AND COMPLETELY LOWERS ENTHUSIASM.

LAST TIME I PUT MY BALLS ON THE LINE ON A HARD REP FOR THE SAKE OF MORE NAGGING.

😅 good work man bet you'll be glad to get rid of that board, sounds like it needed putting out of it's misery with all those repairs.

Schematics are there so it's not that bad to be fair just VERY time consuming and annoying / fiddly.
That style ram is annoying on a good day. To change with rotten tracks and adding jumper wires was a bitch...
