Greetings, everyone. This is my first post, and I hope I'm writing in the right place.

I just dumped the ROM set for the P-47 bootleg PCB: The Freedom Fighter, and I wanted to share the documentation file for this board so it can be used to repair other PCBs like this one. As I've attached in the downloadable text file, I've discovered that there are two bootleg versions of this PCB: one with an Oki MSM6295 and a Yamaha 2203C for sound (on the top board), and another version with two Yamaha 2203Cs. I've only been able to document the version of the PCB with the two Yamaha 2203, but I've managed to dump a World and a Japan version of that board. I've called the version with the two Yamaha 2203Cs Bootleg Set-1. I'm currently searching for the sound EPROMs for the second version, as I also have a PCB of that version. As soon as I find them, I'll upload Set-2 as well. I would like to make this information available to the community, so that they can correct any mistakes I may have made in dumping this board (since it is the first time I have done it).

However, one task remains: reading the PROM of this bootleg (it's the same for Set-1 and Set-2) and its two PLDs. I don't yet have the equipment to force the reading of both PLDs and dump the PROM, so it would be great if a colleague could help me with this task.

And that's all. Feel free to ask me any questions. I hope I've done this job well (and if not, tell me how to fix it and I'll do it).

Regards.

Is there anyone who can modify the existing MAME core from the original P-47 arcade board (P-47: The Phantom Fighter) to run these ROMs I've dumped from bootleg pcb? This way, they could be included in a future version of MAME.

Excellent! These boards are interesting due to the modded sound section.
These dumps should be in mame soon.

There's 1 other game on this bootleg hardware Kick off; (COMODO)

I think after these, they stopped cutting the boards down and copied the 2xOKI of the original.
(until PIC bootleg sound starts coming on EDF bootleg etc)

A colleague from MameWorld (Robbbert) told me where to upload dumped ROMs. We should do it at "[email protected]". I'm mentioning this in case anyone else has the same question I did and needs to send their dumped ROMs to the Mame team.
Basically, on this forum has a lot of dumpers / mamedev , so if the dumps are uploaded, someone will find and add it :)

Yeah!!

are the boards working? i know this hardware very well if you need help :)
Hi, got this version of bootleg. It seems to be a quite common boot design for p47 with the second Yamaha missing. Also just noticed it is also missing EPROMs 23 and 24 compared to the pcb in this thread. Any chance I could modify my pcb to add the missing ICs and restore full sound? Currently the game works with a graphics glitch (tiny vertical black lines on the background) and no sound.
Thanks

Don't worry, your board model is complete. There are three bootleg versions of P47 (one with a single Yamaha chip, one with two Yamaha chips, and one with a Yamaha chip and an Oki chip). It is very likely that the lack of sound and the graphical errors are due to dirty or defective ROMs. I would check them. If you find a faulty chip, you can try burning a new EPROM using the files from this post.
