Hi all,

Has anyone replaced the red power switch in their Astro City cabinet? Would love to know a replacement part if you have it. (Before I start digging). Mine is stuck in the on position and even when clicked off it stays on. I plan to re-cap it soon and figure I'd swap out the switch while I have it open.
[Edit: Will this work? https://amzn.to/4muQ0wF

Thanks in advance!

I'm being serious. Can you remove the switch and take a photo of it with measurements? It will help.

Here's pic of my actual PS. I am going to eventually open it up to give it a full rebuild, but I was hoping someone had an actual source of where to get them.

I wanted to have the part onhand to do everything all in one swoop while I had it open. But we'll see. I ordered a couple of parts I believe should fit.

As far as reusing the existing switch: It might be possible, but it feels as if the plastic itself is what broke inside on the original. So not sure what could be salvaged. I will know more once I work on it.

Thanks guys!

come to my arcade and ill give u one off of one of my spares. i use NVS4000's now

So, this replacement switch is confirmed a direct replacement:
https://amzn.to/4muQ0wF

It's rated higher than the original, so that's a plus:
Original switch: 6A 125V 3A 250V AC
Replacement switch: 10A 125V 6A 250V AC

The footprint is identical and snaps right in. The quick disconnect terminals are the same as well. (0.187").

Hopefully someone in the future can find this useful.

The manufacturer appears to be Shinden Electronics but the part number (SDW-106-22) doesn't come up in searches. I wish I could find one that looks exactly like the original, but it seems the version Sega used with the custom On/Off legend was a customized version of the part that nobody stocks.

I made a vid with the replacing of the switch on my Sega Astro City for reference. Ended up doing a cap kit while I was at it and I'm glad I did. I had 4 leaking caps. I ended it with installing the VADJ extender that @Fixon modeled up here: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/new-astro-city-psu-400-5198-01y-voltage-pot-extender.32791/ It wasn't an exact fit, but it worked for what I needed it to do.

The new episode coming up on Friday. It's a premiere so there will be Live chat as it's airing. Come and join the fun. I will be there in chat supporting the show with any questions people may have. It's a long episode at 1 hour long, so there will be plenty of time to hang out in chat.

You can view the full episode here. Enjoy!
