Hey there everyone. I had recently just bought a CPSIII with a supergun to play 3rd Strike on crt (the line artifacts onscreen are unrelated). However I’m running into an issue with my display. My power supply (Suzo Happ) comes on along with my supergun when I plug everything in, but I can’t seem to get any picture. I have tried cleaning and reseating the cartridge as well. Is it my display setup? My board itself? This is my first time setting up a cps3 for any kind of setup like this so any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Parts list:
Capcom CPSIII with all OEM memory SIMMS (64MB x2 and 128MB x4)
Darksoft Ultra BIOS cartridge
Suzo Happ Arcade power supply
HAS Supergun v4
8 pin min-din scart cable
Bitfunx RGB/VGA/SCART to component adapter with component cables

Looks like on your RGB to Component converter you only connected yellow composite cable which wont work, you need to connect 3 component cables from converter to your TV (provided your TV is component capable). This converter will not convert RGB to composite signal.

Okay I appreciate that! I had gotten some component cables in the meantime and hooked them up to my converter. Unfortunately I’m still getting the same result event with the component cables. Did I set everything up correctly? Or is it my converter?

Is the input on the TV component and are the settings correct? Was the CPS-3 board working or is this the first time you’ve tried it?

Yes I do have the TV on the component input, this is the first time I’ve tried setting up a CPS3 but my supergun is still coming on and showing voltage when I plug in the power supply (I have it set to 5.08v). I’m not sure if that means the board is still fine but I’m not seeing anything else unusual besides the black screen

Was the board working before. Or did you buy it as working?

Can you post up pics of the CPS-3 setup in full?

You say you have an UltraBIOS cart. Is it CD or noCD? How are you loading the games into the SIMMs.

I bought the cps3 as working, and it is a noCD setup. I’m at work at the moment but I can send pics of the full setup later on today

noCD cart will only work with UltraSIMMs as it won’t prompt you to load the game? Or maybe it will work if the games already programmed on genuine SIMMs? @Darksoft

I do have a bluesci ode attached to help the OEM simms work. I’ve also tried to reseat the supergun to make sure it’s in there securely and turned the rgb knobs down to low and still nothing. Honestly kind of stumped
