CAVE PGM conversion audio quality

So I got a Ketsui conversion cart for the PGM not too long ago. I don't know why but Ketsui sounds scratchy while DOJ and my other carts do not. I have seen on this thread that other users have experienced a similar situation with different CAVE PGM conversations. Does this have anything to do with the quality of the conversion? This cart was completely cleaned before use. Other carts tested did not exhibit the same sound issue.

it's funny because I was going through my PGM carts earlier today and thought about this issue.
I had an Espgaluda that was really flawless/pristine, Mint PCB with everything done exactly right... scratchy audio, then I had another one that looked it came out of a swamp and soldered with lighter and coat-hanger... audio was flawless.

I don't have both of these anymore for an A/B comparison but I wonder if it has to do with the speed of the audio ROM used.

Hi, same problem for me, anyone found a solution to resolve that ? Anyone can tell me where are the audio rom stocked ?

"Conversions" Music ROM may have issues that cause the music to play up! Because they are using 3.3V Flash Chips with 5V I/O. Thats NOT a good thing! The 3.3V chip WILL be damaged (and die) / not work quite right with the 5V parts on the rest of the PGM system.

Where as "Fluffys" PCBs are ALL 5V with NO issues..... And i have built and TESTED a Heap of them with NO Audio issues EVER!

Tim.
With that you mean only the power of the flash ship or the I/O part too ?

The Chinese conversion carts are using flash parts rated for both 3.3V power and I/O, while the PGM uses 5.0V for both. Thus, it's better to use Fluffy's cart PCB instead since it uses 5V rated 27C322 EPROMs on both the power and I/O lines.

So for you it's not possible to repair this crackle noisy sounds ?

A faulty volume Pot can cause audio sound issues. Its quite common. BUT if so.. i would expect all games would sound the same ish...
Yes of course, it's not the pot, i've got near same convert cartridge and no problem with the sound, as well as for original oriental legend for exemple, must be a component or a program clue, i don't know.
I've tried to put the 3,3v with the regulator, because was with diodes, but didn't change anything.
