Pulse check on Alberto1225

@coll83 I got a reply back 1 week ago. Alberto advised he needed 2 more weeks.

Assume it’ll be missed as well. I’ll check in again next month.
Ive given up in all honesty. Would have been nice to finish the cab ive fully restrored/painted for my daughter but thats life. Im sure I can find someone else to help.

@coll83 Fresh update. Keep an eye out:

Don't worry too much, it may be delayed and communication of this may not be the best or timely, but you will 100% get your stuff.

I think he is doing the best he can given the volume of orders, the fact a lot of orders are probably small and he obviously needs to do some of the printing in groups to keep his reasonable pricing for the quality being offered. His quality is also without question. That has not always been my experience with others.

I've encountered some delays with nearly all the reproduction sellers/vendors as none of this is off the shelf and I doubt anyone is relying on it as their sole source of income. I would rather have this stuff available with delays than not available at all. Just offering another perspective on the timing.

I stand by my comment that you will 100% receive your panel.

I stand by that and agree with you 100% but taking money off someone 4 months ago is just out of order. I wouldnt dream of doing that.

@JohnRambo'sKnife I understand this thread is not worth reading in full so I'm re-stating where I stand with this. Respectfully, of course.

I'm not throwing any tantrum because of the delays itself. I wasn't happy about missed assurances particularly followed by long periods before I get a response. I'm not even hounding the seller here; I do wait before my follow-ups replies.

Even the beginning as an example: I was offered an update on the 5th, kindly ask for that update well after the 5th, and then I wouldn't get a reply until I started a forum thread on the 19th. I didn't set any of the expectations during this communication phase so I plead not to be chastised when those expectations are missed with no replies.

To summarize @dillingerradio's point earlier: a bit more proactive and probably more realistic expectations for buyers would've went a long way to avoid this.

Anyhow, panels are reportedly in the last stages of production. 🤞 I'm eager to finish my cabs soon.

I second this and paying for something over 5 months prior to then be ignored and be lead down the garden path with no firm delivery is just not on, I have always had a good experience with Alberto in all honesty and have had 4/5 panels now but this ones been so bad an all levels.

Just a flip side on this. I have purchased a few panels off Alberto. They are always top quality, most have taken a month or so to get made up and delivered, I have always been happy.
Last Thursday I enquired about a 2 player noir panel, having seen that he has been busy and expecting a slightly longer than usual wait. He replied immediately to let me know he had one in stock, I paid, panel turned up today (3 business days from when I ordered). Perfect.
It really does just take what it takes. I also totally understand that some things are out of his control and he can only pass on what he has been told. 100% reliable seller, best product you can find and it will be worth the wait. Just try to be a little less horny.

you are right about me being horny and you are right its a quality product but why take my money off me 5 months ago... I wish I could get paid upfront and keep my customers hanging on for months on end. $120.00 is neither hear nor there for me personally but the principle of this is hard to overlook.

Printing a panel of that quality is not cheap. Look at it this way either he takes the money off you first OR he has to wear all the costs and delays himself. He already wears any f-ups or losses during shipping. I dare say if he had to wear manufacturing there would be no panels from alberto. So its just a risk sharing proposition. You wear the delay risk, he wears the manufacturing risk and shipping risk and we all have access to panels. Low volume top qualiry product thats probably the way it has to happen.
I totally understand it can be frustrating but I think in todays world we sometimes forget the financial realities of custom products. Without arrangements like this you just end up with mass produced AI shit.

I dont buy it. I have to stump up raw material costs and manufacturing costs, wages tax and NI payments before I get paid. Your talking to the wrong person on that front im afraid but thanks for trying to justify.

I will toss this in the ring as well. So I posted on the forums needing a new panel for a Namco Blanc I am working on. Alberto actually reached out to me like the day after I posted letting me know he could do it. He worked with me on the button layout, sent me example screenshots of all the overlays he could do ect. We have a back and forth for about a day and he responded timely to all my questions and ensured everything was the way I needed it. Since I was getting a 2L16B he quoted me out at USD 180.00 shipped. That was no problem. I sent payment on 8/14. After reading all these forum post, I understood going in that it looks like it takes him around 4-6 weeks maybe for a turnaround. That was fine. I did reach out to him on week 3, not to rush him or anything, just politely asked if everything was still going ok, and if he had any status update. So now it has been a little over a month we are going into week 5 and I have not heard anything.

So I do understand that even a quick one liner saying, "Hey I didn't forget about you, you are still about 2 weeks out", would go a long way in making a customer feel a little more at ease. At this point I don't know if I lost 180 dollars and still need to continue my search for a control panel or everything is fine and I am going to get it next week.

Also just to add this is my first time ordering anything from Alberto, so I don't have anything to base it off of like others.

Ive had around 4 maybe 5 now and nornally id wait around 4 weeks or so unless it was a stock panel then it would be a week or 2. This one is entering week 20 and still no firm confirmation when ill get it. Just one line replies that give me very little. I have no doubt it will turn up but wow.

Has anyone heard anything from Alberto / Y. T. recently? I am pushing week 7 now and have not heard a peep since I placed the order, and can't get him to respond me in DM's here or Email. Just wondering if anyone else have gotten any updates ect.?

I think my panel from April got posted on Friday. 7 weeks is but a weekend of the time ive waited!

Alright, well at least he is active. My only concern is, if I don't hear anything by the end of this month, the place I gave him to ship it to will no longer be valid as I am leaving the state. So without him contacting me, I don't know if I will actually get the panel. It will turn into a mess. :(

He is definitely still alive and working on the orders. He responded to me twice today with an update. I think he is just super busy and trying to catch up on everything. I am sure we will all get our stuff :)
