Hi @nem , thanks for this topic, it is currently helping a lot recapping my 400-5397-01. I have a slight fitting issue with the C35 cap, the one directly next to the 5V and 3.3V cables. 13mm are fine for C28, C29, C31 and C32 for C35 I'd recommend 10mm. That's the diameter of the cap I pulled...

@skylab is the garbage pattern static or does it change? Does the test/service button get you into the menu?

Finally had the time to desolder all the capacitors today and noticed that the two legs of the component labeled "PC2" next to the cap. C19 had both legs soldered together/bridged on the parts side. Wondering how that could have happened. Is that supposed to be? What is that component? Does not...

Chose Nichicon caps. Most are obsolete and not all seem to have replacements, did not check the other brands (yet). DigiKey did not provide ESR ratings. The C9 cap I could only get with a diameter of 6.3mm and I stocked some additional C23s (220uF 25V). Fingers crossed.

Thanks a lot, especially for the link to nem's thread. Meanwhile, I found this video. Seems there is one particular capacitor that fails a lot. Unfortunately my multimeter does not have the functionality to check capacitors. Hope a recap will fix it.

You need to shorten the sides and covers by 338mm max. It's the length of the coin chute. Keep in mind the blade's thickness. There should be enough chop threads here or over at AO. Everybody and their dog chopped NUs.
