Wild Riders (Naomi 2) sit down

Yeah, I was going to bring my N2/cart and meter along to check if the PSU voltages ok. It's a little easier to do with a Naomi than Model 2/3. I do have a VGA cable without pin 9 too as I know the ground line likes to explode on Naomi filter boards when connecting a full VGA cable to certain CRTs.

Wild Riders (Naomi 2) sit down

Decided on setting up additional boards in this cabinet by putting them on a loose, adjustable 1-tier shelf, instead of mounting them to the sidewalls. I would rather not run the risk of protruding and ruining the art in this cabinet by drilling holes, as this cab looks to be in very good...

Wild Riders (Naomi 2) sit down

Next month I will be picking up a Wild Riders. This is not the Naomi Universal cabinet (which I'll admit is way nicer), but the US sit down cabinet that a few of you may remember seeing in Walmarts and Chuck E. Cheese's. The cabinet has all but the Naomi 2 board and cart, and has a nice WG 9400...

Namco System 23 EMI PCB Pinout

Update: I can confirm J6 is what handles audio signals. Pitch is indeed 2.54mm as I soldered on 4 Dupont male headers to a 4-pin Dupont female header. This plugs to my Sega Model 2A through 3 audio harness. If you don't have the TE connectors to crimp, you can also plug Dupont connectors into...

Namco System 23 EMI PCB Pinout

Hi, I'm picking up my first non-Sega arcade system from a guy, a Time Crisis 2 Namco System 23 set with metal box. I've had a look at the TC2 manual and it seems to me that CH1 and CH2 (marked in the wiring diagram picture) represent the audio signals for the system. Is that for connector J6...

Wiring a Single Potentiometer to Use Two 5k Pot Inputs (Arcade)?

Yeah I heard about dual gang pots. There is that rare case though where a replacement pot for a controller is next to impossible to replace, let alone a dual-gang variant for it. I've also found this thread where somebody Frankenstein'd a pot with a chip to output two signals; perhaps I could...

Wiring a Single Potentiometer to Use Two 5k Pot Inputs (Arcade)?

Hi, This is semi-related because a project like this would be handy for certain home controllers of mine. Has anyone attempted to wire 2 analog inputs to a single potentiometer in an arcade-related project? I've stumbled upon similar projects like this crossfade circuit here that appears to be...

WTB Initial D 7 AAX Shifter

Hello, Does anyone have a spare shifter for Initial D 7 AAX or Stage 8 available they would be willing to sell for me working? I am planning to swap out the shifter in my Le Mans 24 (Model 3 FFB) cabinet with this one, as I think this shifter is ridiculously comfortable having played the...

WTB Cool Riders JP/Euro (Rev 2) Dashboard

Bump, but I think a US dashboard should work too, as long as the 4 bolts are the same screw thread as what the Daytona/Scud Race cabinets use (I believe they are M8?). Looked a new eBay listing of one for sale and the dashes look identical. So yeah, let me know if you've parted a CoolRiders out...

WTB Cool Riders JP/Euro (Rev 2) Dashboard

Hello, Anyone in Europe or Asia (or in the rarest lucky case, USA) have a dashboard from this particular cabinet for Cool Riders? The cabinet I am referring to is this one in the photo here (not mine). Yaton has a dashboard available but it is for the Rad Rally style cabinet. FYI, I have the...

House of The Dead 2 Naomi Red Blood

I'm going to bump this thread but I was having a similar issue with my House of the Dead 2 Naomi cage. Before I get started, I'll go ahead and throw in an unofficial Special Service Bulletin for HOD2 Owners with same issue. Because my board was from Europe it did come with green blood only...

    Sega Saturn gun to arcade

Very awesome. I had no clue the pinout for the Sega Stunner was that simple, though you can also hook up the Sega Light Phaser for Master System (identical pinout sans extra button) to a Model 2 Gun I/O and it will work with HOD and Virtua Cop 2. The light sensor is a bit weaker than the arcade...

    Jambo! Safari Deluxe Force Feedback

Hi, I have been searching and searching for a schematic and wiring diagrams for the DELUXE cabinet for Jambo Safari. According to the test menu, the deluxe setting allows for force feedback. I plan to wire this up cleanly in my Le Mans 24 cabinet in 15khz mode (the Nanao MS-9 obviously doesn't...

    Daytona 2 refurb lingering issues

I second nem. Automated Services in Milford CT may have one they could give you a deal on. I've seen many Daytona 2 parts on there. Becky and co there always pack my boards so well. I'd get with them, OP

    Daytona 2 refurb lingering issues

Have you made sure the connection of the seat speaker plug underneath the seat is secured? Had a similar problem with my Lemans; the left seat speaker was making a nasty crackling noise. As I was working on it and reseated the cable, it went away and no more popping. Your connection may be loose.

FOUND Scud Race DX (The First Version) Model 3 Step 1.5 ROM Board

Update: I did get my hands on what was previously an undumped version of this particular software, shipped all the way from Australia to my US door! The existing set in MAME is 'Revision A', which this particular ROM Board had no Revision number on it, hence why I acquired it. Differences to...

Sega Rally | Sega Rally 2 PCB Question

I have played Harley-Davidson & L.A. Riders in my Scud Race/Lemans cabinet, and you need to short the Rear Brake (CN1, Pin 9) to a ground pin on your filter board. I have shorted this pin to pin 6, CN10 (RS422 port) and the game plays fine, though it is the only Model 3 racing game that does not...

Use USB/PS2 game pad on JAMMA/JVS

Sorry for the bump, but I'd eventually like to make something like that as a side-project this year. Take ANY non-force feedback USB racing controller, interfaced with that USB Host Board + Arduino and plug it directly to the game board by spoofing 3 digipots, or run a multi-channel digital pot...

    Daytona 2 refurb lingering issues

So do you still get a hum when you turn the knob? If it sounds a semitone lower than a 60hz bus, that's the hum from the game board itself (presumably because it runs at 57.5hz instead of 60hz). Usually that's an issue with the ROM Board or CPU board, but I've mostly found it's a bad connection...

Simple analog steering wheel / accel brake to micro switch circuit.

This is beyond wicked and benefits people who want to play racing games on their Supergun. It would also benefit people who want to mod console race wheels or controls that don't have potentiometers. Have you tried this with any Sega Model 2 or 3 boards? Scud Race requires the gas to be held at...
