I connected the Sega cab CPS2 kick harness with a JNX CPS2-CPS1 converter, onto CNI02 on the Darksoft board. The SF2 kicks work fine now. Just thought I'd share a photo in case helpful :-)

Thanks. I hadn't noticed the voltage! It's now 5.00V :-) I hadn't used the JNX there before- glad I did now! As a matter of interest, why does the CPS2 kick harness socket on the JNX not work? I've ordered an adapter to go directly on the Darksoft board.

I received the programmed chips from buyicnow.com, and installed into the C2 board today. Everything works fine :) Had a great game of Thunderforce AC, but set the board to freeplay first, heh, as that game is a drainer (DipSw 1 all set to 'on' in case anyone wondering!).

I ordered 2 from sheep on ebay which were desuicided- 1 of these I re-suicided and is working currently on the multi. I emailed sheep asking for untouched C boards- no reply. I'd like to order 2 of your repro C boards please :-)

Due to unleaded solder, I damaged a track on a Namco 256 board, and lifted one side of an adjacent resistor because of the higher temperature. Subsequently I repaired it with leaded solder, microscope etc. This is how I learned about garbage unleaded solder- never again!

I can't get the reset wire solder to stay in place, and have pretty much ruined the tracks now so maybe ruined the motherboard. Is there anywhere else the reset wire can be placed apart from soldering? Edit: I fixed it. I'm only an average solderer, but got rogered by a super-hot Dremel gas...

Matt, do you have a photo of exactly where to solder the reset wire?
