    Recap a Vectrex

I’m not 100% certain but I think a Sega Genesis controller may work so you’d be able to rule out it’s not an issue with the Vectrex controller itself. I had to peel back the decal on both of mine and fiddle with the analog sticks to get them 100%, pretty sure I needed some new springs and used...

    Recap a Vectrex

I recapped mine about 5 years back and didn’t have any issues. There may not be any through hole plating so it relies on the actual component legs to complete the circuit between each side of the pcb, I would just test continuity after each cap by testing to the next component on the trace since...

    Naomi has me lost

I have a NetBoot setup I upgraded the 3.3v regulator in the Capcom IO so I power it through that off of Jamma. I’ve had zero issues although it was kinda hacky shoehorning the new regulator in(totally different package). Not sure if it’s the same one as this but it’s the same package and made...

Interest Check: Repo Restrictor disc for Gundam Stick Monkey Ball joysticks…

I’m still interested regardless of NOS or repro, @alberto1225 made me an awesome panel for my Super Neo 29 cab. My Gundam sticks have a white restrictor disc but it’s 40mm so I’d love to have one(or two) that’s the correct size.

Assistance request: Audio solution for US R-Type M72 from a Nintendo cabinet

I’ve done it, just requires the removal of a jumper and populating the (3) missing capacitors. See post #18 in this thread. https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/r-type-sound-in-non-nintendo-cab.216900/

Sega Mega Play reprogrammable flash cartridge

I know nothing about this hardware but if a reset signal to the cart is all that’s needed, it seems there are some unused pads on the cart, Although i’m not sure of the onboard connector. If there are any unpopulated positions I’d think a jumper can be routed to an unused position on the...

Nintendo Vs. PCB, bad image (solved), audio affecting image (solved)

I have zero experience with pcb design but I wonder if the routing of the signals on the adapter would allow the audio to affect the video? Maybe they’re too close to each other or sharing a ground that should be dedicated to video or audio? Unfortunately all my VS stuff is packed away at the...

    Playchoice Sharp xm-2001n’s help!

I’m pretty sure a K7000 skinny yoke is an acceptable substitute, At least for the XM-1801. I had a bad one on one of my Red Tent monitors and I used a spare yoke from a trashed 2001 so I think they’re close enough to exchange them.

FOUND Need help with a rejuvenator in socal

I’m in Bellflower a few miles away from Golf N’ Stuff. I’ve got a tube tester/rejuvenator with CR-23,24,30,31 and maybe a couple others, I’ve been meaning to make a universal but haven’t purchased all the mini grabbers yet to make it happen. I’ve used it to rejuvenate a B&W monitor but other...

    29F032 protection permanent ?

The datasheet looks to go pretty in depth, Autoselect on page 11 describes a method how to check if it’s protected or not. There also seems to be a method of temporarily allowing to write/erase the protected sectors...

Midway (Williams) Y unit (Z unit and T unit) Discussion, Serial Numbers etc

Here is an interesting page regarding NARC, It also links to GitHub. From the text in NARC.DOC it seems there was a standard resolution version made at one point. It describes how to assemble it but I’m not sure all the tools are available. I’d love to try it out in std res but the look of the...

    Mk2 soundboard help please

Here is a nice thread to reference. https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/mortal-kombat-2-soundboard-repair.262830/ Seems you’ve replaced the opamp at U37(TL084) unless there is another on there, I haven’t looked at the schematic. I would look into the DAC(AD1851N) at U16.

    RCDM-I1

This thread has a repair log for a Dark Seal pcb and I think it may be the same or a similar custom part, it shows you how to modify a sip resistor for it to work. https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/froztbite-repair-logs.20422/
