Vewlix Console I/O - Connect Brook fighting boards directly to your Vewlix.

All 8 buttons are routed to the G harness according to the pinout on the Arcade Otaku wiki. The pinouts for both auxiliary harness connectors are printed on the silkscreen on the back of the Console I/O.

Accidently ran 12V on the 5V rail. Is it a goner?

Are your running key writing and encrypted roms? If you are, try running a decrypted rom set and see what happens. Also I assume that the battery has been removed from the B board?

Accidently ran 12V on the 5V rail. Is it a goner?

The audio amp uses +12v, all of the other logic on the A and B boards use +5v. The multikit probably doesn't use +5v directly for anything other than possibly the level shifters, so the multi might be fine, but the A and B boards could be completely fried. You said you don't have a supergun yet...

Vewlix Console I/O - Connect Brook fighting boards directly to your Vewlix.

So I wanted to let everyone know that the Console I/O V3.1 is now in stock on my website. This is a newly updated version that adds a second 6 pin harness connector that allows you to connect P1 and P2 B7-B8 buttons directly to your I/O board. The PCB color has also now been changed to matte...

Taito F3. Get your cart here

I'm wondering this as well. I've finally got an F3 board on the way and now the multi appears to be out of stock everywhere.

WTB: Seibu SPI System with Raiden Fighters 1 or 2

The title says it all. I'm looking for a Seibu SPI system with either Raiden Fighters 1 or 2 (or both if someone happens to have them available.) My dedicated vertical Aero City is almost complete and I'm trying to acquire some of my childhood favorite vertical shooters.

Extreme CPS2 Battery Damage Repair - ROUND 3!

Don't worry guys I have no intention of starting to offer repair services. I don't have the time for that, and I'd have to charge too much to be worthwhile for anyone. This is purely for my own benefit. Now, with that said... Would you believe it's time for round 3? This board is the one I was...

The Definitive Guide to Fixing Your CPS2 Multi Kit

Was your B board still connected to the A board when you left it to discharge?

The Definitive Guide to Fixing Your CPS2 Multi Kit

Sounds like the key for 1944 is currently written to your B board. Does your B board still have a battery? If not try to short the legs of EXC5 with the B board disconnected from the A board and then try running decrypted roms.

Extreme CPS2 Battery Damage Repair - ROUND 3!

Time for round 2. This B board was one of 3 that I acquired from another forum member a few days ago. It didn't have the kind of severe pin damage on the customs that the first one did, but it was definitely in need of some work. My first course of action on this one was to clean the corrosion...

Extreme CPS2 Battery Damage Repair - ROUND 3!

Thanks for the info. I have a strange new development with this one. I tried running this B board with Razoola's suicide test rom and a blank key written to it and it consistently boots in that scenario. This is a -4 board, and I have read that they can struggle with key writing, so this made me...

PICKnMIX Fix: A tiny PCB for Neo Geo that automatically enables PICKnMIX on Universe Bios 4.0

Glad to hear you got it working. It's utterly bizarre that removing C1 solved your problem. C1 is just a bypass cap for the power input of the MCU.

Extreme CPS2 Battery Damage Repair - ROUND 3!

Thanks a lot for the work you've done. This documentation is so useful for repairs. While I have your attention, I have another B board that is exhibiting behavior that I'm struggling to explain. It boots consistently to a green screen. I've probed the graphics addresses and data and I get...

Extreme CPS2 Battery Damage Repair - ROUND 3!

Gentlemen, we got 'em. After looking through the schematic in the CPS2 reverse engineering project that @ekorz linked, I tried to track down any and every port that could be related to graphics generation. I probed out all of the enable signals for the graphics chips, I looked at all of the...

Extreme CPS2 Battery Damage Repair - ROUND 3!

I fully agree, but... This. This is a practice exercise for me. I'm testing my skills and trying to expand my diagnostic toolbox. Edit: @ekorz wow, I had not seen that project before. I was working off of the earlier B board trace out that apparently led to that full reverse engineering...

Extreme CPS2 Battery Damage Repair - ROUND 3!

I recently put out a call for some CPS2 B Boards that were battery damaged, and I've received 2 so far. The first one I received is the one I've done the most work to so far. Here's what it looked like when I received it. As you can see it was in rough shape. My first course of action was...

Sudden CPS2 Multi Key Writing Failure

I've been working on my CPS2 setups over the past few days and I needed a quick way to desuicide a B board that I was swapping the roms on. I didn't know where my LCD shield and Arduino Uno that I usually use for desuiciding CPS2 B boards (I moved late last year and a lot of stuff is still in...

New JAMMA Kit for Vewlix (and more!) - Universal JAMMA Interface

Hey guys, I have a new prototype in and have been testing it over the past couple of days. The new -5v circuit is performing well so far, but I wanted to get some opinions about adjustability. The current version of the -5v circuit is fixed voltage. What I'd like to know is if there is a...
