RetroRGB Review of Axun Supergun Mini

Looks interesting. The one thing I do not understand on many super guns is why they have Neo Geo controller ports. Most people don't have Neo Geo controllers, and if they do they probably don't want to wear them out. A standard Super NES controller port, or a Saturn/PS controller port or a USB...

What CRT do you prefer for retro console gaming?

A Sony FW900 24" widescreen 24" monitor is also a nice versatile workhorse with a nice image.

What CRT do you prefer for retro console gaming?

The best arcade monitor I've probably seen as far as horse power/non blooming bright image is the Nanao MS-2931. The tubes on them can have convergence issues and some geometry issues. When running solid they look great and have a certain brightness about them also. But they are like maintaining...

What CRT do you prefer for retro console gaming?

Some of my favorites among the ones I've collected for console use: NEC XM29 - has impressively good convergence, great all purpose monitor from 240p through 720p. Dreamcast rules on this monitor. In the USA you just couldn't get large 480p 4:3 CRTs at home. 240p is really excellent on it also...

Nanao MS-2931 Clicks but no glow

Also, another thing you can request is for a repair person to put all parts removed in a bag and have them sent back to you.

Console JAMMAizer! Easily connect home consoles to your JAMMA arcade cabinet.

On the Jammaizerboard, I also turned the RGB pot adjusments all the way to max brightness which did help a good bit.

That’s the monitor I'm using I believe. Make sure all your cables are secure and flip the sync combiner switcher on the Jammaizer once or twice. That seems to stabilize an image for what was seemingly missing a color or was getting brighter and dimmer every few seconds.

Do you have any further thoughts? I’m unable to use a Brook UFB with a WingmanSD on the Jammaizer currently. The Wingman is just flashing a red light. Thanks I also have a couple MC Cthula boards. Perhaps I can buy some RJ45 cables for Saturn and Dreamcast if necessary if they work with that.

    CPS2 strange glitch problem

Also, maybe look into a super capacitor replacement for CPS2. Apparently that can solve some issues more permanently. I am about to order some myself to try. Check out this post, it has some further tips and an order link for a super capacitor...

    Blast City Subwoofer Installation Setup

I recently installed an internally powered subwoofer inside a Blast City and will be installing another identical setup in another Blast due to the great results. If you can find an Ativa D-1051A 5.1 stereo system yo might pick one up. You only need the subwoofer and not the speakers (I found...

25" K7000 Pinched on right side (linearity issue)

Do you have another tube to try it on to isolate it? My first suggestion was going to be to try a different width cap as that can cause issues like that.

    CPS2 strange glitch problem

Regarding the sound, try holding down one or both of the sound volume buttons on the CPS2 board when you power it up. This can reset it. I also have one or two CPS2 boards that do that. I can't recall the specific order of button press on startup, but that has worked for me.

New CPS3 Simms! 8 times the size of a regular SIMM

I just wrote the new version also. It's fun to have the recolored backgrounds in 3rd Strike as an option. I'll have to try Red Earth tomorrow, I got carried away playing the new stages on 3rd Strike. Update: played through to the end of Red Earth as well without an issue as expected. Originally...

Console JAMMAizer! Easily connect home consoles to your JAMMA arcade cabinet.

How do you set up the Brook UFB in arcade stick mode? I personally find the instructions for both the Brook UFB and the Brook Wingman SD to be fairly unclear. I believe the two times I got the Brook UFB to work with the Wingman SD, I was holding down player 1 button 3 to force XBox360 mode. I...

Console JAMMAizer! Easily connect home consoles to your JAMMA arcade cabinet.

For Jammaizer, is it possible to consistently use a Brook UFB to Brook Wingman SD? It worked once in about the 20 times I tried it with one of the two controllers. The Jammaizer seems fine but the issue seems between the two Brook boards, as mentioned above, maybe it is due to the firmware on...

Console JAMMAizer! Easily connect home consoles to your JAMMA arcade cabinet.

I picked up a couple Brook UFBs and Brook Wingmans to use XBOX360, Saturn and Dreamcast with a Jammaizer. Should it be plug and play? Any firmware or updates needed? The Brook UFBs didn’t seem to register working for inputs so far.
