Oh yes, cageless is the way.

Those are Model 2 and Model 3 cages. Those easily fit into a Blast/NAC. The Model1 cage is 50% longer and only fits in Wood cabs or the Astro 2's backpack.

Most the VF1 board sets I see, the cage is long gone and they go for cheap and untested. I mounted all my boards to both sides of the plywood, wires going everywhere, but it fits in an NAC.
