Minigun Supergun - An Open Source Supergun

Built one today... all cleaned up, and tested voltages. Tomorrow: try it on a PCB. Thanks, @Frank_fjs !

Neo Geo MVS, incompatible with SuzoHapp CGA LCD?

GBS-CONTROL is pretty damned nice. I bought a GBS just to play with it and see what it could do with an arcade board...namely a CPS2 board. I already had an OSSC, so the GBS was not to be my "go to" connection to a 31KHz monitor. The default GBS is garbage...I was getting all sorts of...

Guess not... so I ordered them myself.

Minigun Supergun - An Open Source Supergun

Anyone have any blank 2.5 advanced and sync boards, located in the US, that they want to sell, versus me having to order 10 of each and never using 9 of them?

    PARSEC Supergun Project

I use one of Mini-box's PicoPSUs with mine.

Closing the CPS2 case with DS board

I have the stock cable I bought it with from the USA distributor. I purchased it with the short version, because there's no way in hell I was going to pay $23 for the long ribbon cable. I tried both ends, same result, the strain relief on both ends were identical and sat at the same height, so...

Closing the CPS2 case with DS board

That's what I was thinking I would have to do...hate removing strain relief, but that seems to be the only way. ETA: removing the strain relief allowed the case to close.

Closing the CPS2 case with DS board

I modified the top case of my CPS2 B-board as per the directions (removed the screw-boss/pylon and cut it completely flush with a dremel), but cannot get the case to close. The only way I can is to unplug the Darksoft's ribbon cable, but that renders it useless not having the LCD to switch...

    [FS] Arcade-Projects JAMMA extenders

For sale: Frank_fjs JAMMA extenders... NO CABLES INCLUDED. Why? Different people want different lengths, so the user can purchase what they want to suit their needs. The Aliexpress link for the male-male ATX adapter cable can be found on the project's forum thread...

    CPS2 Darksoft Multi Not Working

There are plenty of other traces I found in your pictures that may have issues. I've attached one group below. Notice how the traces disappear for a couple of millimeters and then reappear. Maybe it's just the photo, but, those look like bad/corroded traces to me.

    CPS2 Darksoft Multi Not Working

Maybe this has nothing to do with it...is there a large scratch on the board across a bunch of traces near ROM socket 10? If so, are there any breaks in continuity there? Also, are your A&B boards completely seated together? In one of the imgur pics it looks like there is a rather large gap...

Missing ceramic cap on MVS1C board

I was looking at the underside of my MVS1C board and noticed that one of the ceramic caps adjacent to the RAM6 IC is missing. Though this photo might not show it very well, the cap looks like it was ripped of or otherwise removed (pads look intact though), as there are two fractured solder...

    The Jassifier

I used those settings on my MVS and didn't ever get a sync on the OSSC to my LCD TV. I'm wondering if I need to try installing one of those dual frequency oscillator boards to get it working correctly.

Minigun Supergun - An Open Source Supergun

I use the one linked below. Maybe also read the second link about counterfeit chinese clones. https://www.mini-box.com/picoPSU-160-XT https://www.mini-box.com/site/mini-box-counterfeit-products-alert.html

    The Jassifier

Can I use this as part of consolizing an MVS-1C, which I then want to connect to my OSSC? Or is there a better solution for that?

    Arcade-Projects Jamma extension cables

I don't have a special tool for it (an IDC crimper is what it's called, if you want to buy a cheap one from Aliexpress). Instead, I get all the parts aligned and then push as hard as I can with my hands while placing the the connector on a flat surface to get the punching of the wires...

    Arcade-Projects Jamma extension cables

The IDC cable, yes. I had the cable and connectors on hand from building other retro projects (for floppy drive cables to use GoTek drives with Amiga computers). The ATX extender was purchased on Aliexpress from the link that @Frank_fjs provided.

Minigun Supergun - An Open Source Supergun

Nice...the last supergun I built (Parsec) uses an onboard generator as well, but the TI circuit cost almost $19USD in and of itself. This is far more cost effective :)

What are you using to generate the -5V? It looks like a Buck converter of some sort.
