Sega Blast City PSU Capkit and fan mod

Max I could get on the Blast PSU 3.3v rail was 2.9v. When it warmed up it was a bit higher but was still prone to crashing. This is how I'm running it at the moment but would prefer getting it back on the original PSU if possible. Do you think the cap kit will raise the 3.3v or would I need to...

Sega Blast City PSU Capkit and fan mod

Most of my boards are originals, but I do have a couple of bootlegs that need 5.5v to run, SFII CE being one of them which my friend gave me so we can play it on the cab, it's his favourite SF game. Off the top of my head Legend Of Hero Tonma is another game that requires a bit over 5v but I...

Sega Blast City PSU Capkit and fan mod

Nice job! My PSU is due a recap, but what will resolve the issue of not being able to raise the voltage even higher? I have a couple of boards that need a high voltage bump to run stably so I can't play them.

    initial D card reader

Taken from that thread: The info how to emulate the card reader for ID4-8 has not been publicly released and I'm not aware of anything else publicly released that will work on original RE hardware.

    initial D card reader

Is there a solution widely available to use with Ringedge hardware now?

    initial D card reader

That card reader looks to be one from a Star Horse. Although it will print cards for ID6 and ID7, it wont print on ID8 and generates an error when ejecting the card but saves OK. I use a Cosel LCA100S-24 PSU. It uses JST VH connectors for power. For the serial cable I used a cheap adapter from...

I was under the impression 400-5330 is the part number and the numbers after are the revision. Maybe I'm mistaken though, always willing to learn something new. :)

Sega Model2/3 - JAMMA Adapter Thread

Slightly OT, just an observation regarding your picture. Even though the model number is the same, the PSU on one of my setups that was fitted inside a Daytona USA 2 DX shows 12a on the 5v rail. Not sure what's going on there.

Sega Model2/3 - JAMMA Adapter Thread

My friend lives in Japan and has been playing SpikeOut FE for many many years, he's played quite a few of those years on that very setup. One day his DSB2 stopped working and when he investigated he found those connectors plugged into his PSU had burned out. I'm guilty of playing SpikeOut for...

Sega Model2/3 - JAMMA Adapter Thread

Do your power connectors that plug into the PSU get warm/hot? When using an original Model 3 - Blast City loom in my Blast I've noticed that the power connectors plugged into the Blast I/O get a bit warm. This kinda concerns me a bit to be honest as I tend to play for a long sessions when I sit...

Sega Model2/3 - JAMMA Adapter Thread

My friend only plays SpikeOut FE which is a game renowned for being able to play for long sessions, when I play I can easily play for well over 4 hours. His old setup also utilized a DSB2 and an audio amp. Maybe adding those takes the PSU to an really uncomfortable threshold where it generates...

Sega Model2/3 - JAMMA Adapter Thread

I meant using a new off the shelf ATX PSU that has over 20a on the 5v rail. :whistling: The SUN model has a switch but the Nipron PSU doesn't, well I can't find a switch on the Nipron PSU anyways. Edited wrong info out regarding shorting pins 'PS On and gnd', it does work powering up the...
