    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

No answer after 24 hours so, this will be also my last response on the matter because I'm over 50 years old and I have better things to do with my own life. Again, the guy just want to be "right" but he doesn't show any hard evidence of anything, anyway, this is the last you will hear from me...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

@donluca They are working with the information they have available and by the way, they are not wrong, this is exactly what the DSP16A does as I have already described earlier, also, the technology of the time didn't allow QSound to be processed (decoded) in real time and therefore the need for...

Angry? Because I use bold letters? Hummm.. Why would I waste my time with MAME team? Let me tell you a history, the engineer responsible for many of the Yamaha FM sound engine join mame dev without telling anyone who he was and contribute with some code, what MAME team do? Scrap all his work...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

Just to make sure, you said you are a experienced guy that fix DAC's and everything and doesn't know that the circuit I've posted it's used at amplifiers input stage? Please, don't give us this "proprietary" crap, the patents are available online. Also YES you can prove it. Do I have to tell...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

I ask myself the exact same thing. Looks like you don't know what a R-C phase shift network do... http://www.learnabout-electronics.org/Oscillators/osc31.php Prove it! You Just talk, you don't back up anything you say with any evidence. To DECODE QSound you need a matrix DECODER, that it's the...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

That are the rules for QSound, if you don't want it, don't use it, simple as that. Standard cabinets can't be used for QSound unless you apply some changes, there is no other way around it.

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

If they want QSound effect on standard cabinets, all they have to do is to place speakers on the side of the cabinet facing the player at head level, if they don't want to drill the cabinet, get a speaker stand like the one used for home theater speakers or build an adapter made with a belt or...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

It depends on the type/model of the cabinet, the ones with speakers face forward over the player head, works just fine.

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

You don't need to run this on the original cab to proper hear the effects, all you need beside the Capcom amp, is to have a pair of aligned speakers facing you at your ears level. Again, take the Ryu stage sample: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3ey3fsutiwv1n3s/Ryu_Stage.zip 1. Play at your...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

Sorry if I came late to the discussion, the forum didn't notify me about the discussion. This it's not a personal attack, but I have to tell you the way it is. I'm not a big fan of people that tell people "trust me because I'm this or that" I rather prefer strait up arguments based on facts...

This guy know his stuff!!! Source: Giant Bomb True! That is what the Capcom amplifier does it and only a hand full of people knows about it, not even superctr, Valley Bell or any emu dev's are aware of it. Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

That is what people believe it does, if you take the new superctr and Valley Bell QSound engine and just play the music the QSound effects are incomplete. If you look at the superctr and Valley Bell code, that chip only does panning, volume, echo, delay, etc.[1][2] From what I understand, QSound...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

Nothing special, without the QSound encoding/matrix/mix it will output as a standard stereo sound. Maybe you could get some kick out of some albums mixed with QSound like Madonna, Paula Abdul or something of that nature, you should get a more wider spatial stereo sound.

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

I don't think so @ZERO_MILES, my technology does something very different, for example, it can locate a instrument/voice/effect/etc underneath other sound and bring that instrument forward and send everything else back or acting as a healing tool like the one used in photoshop to erase voice...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

The secret is hidden in plain site, only a hand full knows about it, me included ;) CPS2 hardware has no decoding software or hardware, the DL-1425 CAPCOM-Q1 it is not a DSP, it's a "sophisticated" mixer. QSound technology is filter based, as Oliveira said, it rely on equalization of the signals...

    Capcom Q-Sound amp help?

Yes they are SUPER heroes, true masters on what they do! Both of them are very decent and friendly people. The part that does the magic are the opamps, they amplify the signal and does a matrix decoding. All people have to do is to find a schematic from that Capcom amplifier ans see how the...
