Very persistent and hard to fix (maybe impossible?) Purity issue

The degaussing wand only on front of the tube, pay attention to the yoke position, check if this one is well seated against the tube.

Very persistent and hard to fix (maybe impossible?) Purity issue

To correct the purity error on peripheral areas, disk magnet s on the four corners near the yoke could be used, also try to move the set in other position and O room if the discolorstion is always in the same spot you got a tube damaged even if there is not even a scratch.

Very persistent and hard to fix (maybe impossible?) Purity issue

May I know wich monitor set is it? If you have already checked the PTC and if you have already tried to manually degauss with a degaussing coil, and the issue istill there, most likely the shadow mask is dislodged due to an impact and you can only try to cure with magnet disks but the result...

PSA: MS293X, faulty chassis can break the tube

Unluckely the ic (MPC..) is not the issue you can easily replace this and the chassis will remain in protection or ready to destroy another tube, most likely any other smd fuse resistor or t.. Still not find out a solution but slso not want spent any other minutes on this chassis.. As far as I...

    Another Sanwa 29E31 gone

First of all go check the HOT, 2sc5143, this often fail as well as a voltage regulator and a fuse resistor 039 ohm near the flyback. Unluckely the 2sc5143 often become very hot due to an error in the original chassis project, basically they not calculate well the H stage and it go easily...

PSA: MS293X, faulty chassis can break the tube

And yes the chassis was the most advanced one ever made by Nanao simply do not match with the so fragile Toshiba tubes of its later production, the weirdest its that Orion acquired all Toshibas patents to make 29" Tubes also for arcade but those tubes are very reliable. About Sony BVMs pro...

PSA: MS293X, faulty chassis can break the tube

They surely removed that chassis from a tube with sight g1 leakeage, in this condition the monitor works but with some flicker on bright white-flash at full screen due to the hv starting to violently increase, this condition will last few minutes or hours then the whole monitor autodestroy...

PSA: MS293X, faulty chassis can break the tube

Its a long story, in short, the reason of the death of those tubes is caused by the materials used to assemble the tube itsef, at late of 90' some materials gone out of low and thats why the chassis destroy the tube, basically due to this, there is a G1 leackeage and in the same time the HV...

    Problems with MS9

Start with the PSU section but first recheck all caps again, theyr values, theyr position , just check every cap you have installed for right direction, check for cold solder joints on v. Ic and expecially near the HOT under the little grey driver trasformer, then check the B+ at tp2 point.

PSA: MS293X, faulty chassis can break the tube

Those chassis are use and scrap, on the main there is little board placed vertically it should control the hv but if something go wrong in this little bastard, the Cassis just kill the the tube in one sec , releasing itself in "overload protection" Or in the worst case just ready to destroy...

    Nanao-MS8FSG Washed Out/no brightness adjust

There is a 4.7 ohm fuse resistor just near the flyback, check if this is ok, you have an issue with 200v line to the neck board. Start checking this resistor

Nanao MS8-26SG - can't get focus before and after recap/flyback

I had a a very close issue, basically my unit going in focus very slowly, replaced the crt socket, checked the B+, all caps, the issue remain then casually replaced the step down tranformer with one bigger and with more Amperage rate, (5A) it worked perfectly with no issue

Sorry for delay, you should replace the two D1138 even if they test aparently good, also when work on ms8 26 pay attention when you are on vertical deflection area because it will be all the way cooked and all traces so fragile
