    Vertical position Adjustment not working

I don't think so , I usually just read the values directly off of the old pots or if that doesn't work, measuring them with a multimeter.

    Vertical position Adjustment not working

gameboardsoc1234 is Bill Burger. Just google "Bill Burger arcade". pots are no more difficult to find or replace than caps, you're just dealing with 3 pins instead of 2.

    Vertical position Adjustment not working

As much as people swear by recapping monitors, I've probably had more monitor failures due to bad pots than bad caps. on both of my MS8s I've replaced every pot on both of them after frustration with ones that were falling out of adjustment or failing to respond to adjustment. the original pots...

    Killer Instinct Dual Board

Here is the simple way with no fancy electronics required. 1. buy ROMs that are all double the size of the original ROMs (so 27c080 ROMs to replace the original 27c040/27c4001) 2. buy an adapter that will let you switch IDE devices so you can switch between your ki1 drive and ki2 drive 3. burn...

JNX Rage - JAMMA Adapter for Primal Rage

    Primal Rage factory Layout is: (S) (1) (2) (3) where S = start and these are all on the JAMMA edge. JNX Rage Remaps it to: S -> 1 (JAMMA) 1 -> 2 (JAMMA) 2 -> 4 (Kick) 3 -> 5 (Kick)

    Killer Instinct Dual Board

The Sound ROMs could be condensed into a single 27c322 per game. So if one were to make a dual board it'd be a lot easier to simply create a plug-in daughter-board for the sound ROMs with a game switch and a small number of larger capacity ROMs than to pull pins and daisy-chain wires between...

Strange Capcom CPS-1/1.5 “Family” consolised system with custom carts?

it's just a fancy custom B-Board, with the ROMs mounted on his custom carts. it's unclear if the C-board is integrated into the cartridge or the B-Board as there aren't any clear pictures of the second cart PCB.

Namco System 11/12 - Conversions and multi

When I say "sub-board" I'm referring to this one, used on some games to store additional graphical assets: Looking at MAME source this is referred to as the "Daughter PCB". and it looks like there are two known versions of it "There are two known revisions of this PCB. They're mostly identical...

    Discoloration in corner of CRT

I just googled Dynamo Showcase Manual: http://www.drzero.org/videogames/dynamo/Showcase.pdf according to the manual it has a manual degauss switch on the Monitor's Remote Board. this is most likely located behind the front access panel below the monitor.

    Discoloration in corner of CRT

Some monitors have a degauss coil built in that will degauss on power up, or sometimes there is a button for degauss (usually mounted on the same panel behind the coin door with the test/service buttons). I find the built in coils tend to not work super well, and they work even worse when it's...

Namco System 11/12 - Conversions and multi

Yes and no. I have 3 use cases... 1. I have a few games that are "maybe" undumped versions of previous dumped games. given the risk of damage removing the chips for dumping, they haven't been dumped to confirm if they are indeed different than what has been dumped before. A solder-free way to...

Sega Model 2 and Model 3 Filter Board Pinouts

it will power on with just those two connectors, but it's not recommended. the current draw per wire will be much higher and you risk cooking/burning the wires or connectors CN8 and CN14 are both used for analog inputs for things like steering wheels and pedals on driving games as well as lamp...

JAMMA to VGA and JAMMA to SCART

I've never tested this on a scaler as I use it on my bench setup which is a CRT (Sony PVM display). There's no reason using resistors would cause a problem with a scaler though, I'd even argue that it might be safer doing so.

Twinkle Star Sprites: debug & dueling cakes

Of course you would be the one to want to play the hidden sentient birthday cake fighting game. :P you should patch the ROM so it boots exclusively to Cake Fighter instead of TSS and get rid of the exit text/functionality. Then we can make a dedicated conversion cart for it complete with label :P
