NON-CRT Displays that support 15KHz and 25KHz resolutions

Yes, OSSC gets that job done as my original Harley PCB (sent for repairs to Mr. Ken) ironically had this problem but from the VGA plug itself; you need to dial ADC gain down to 0 or 1. Unfortunately my OSSC is dead from having voltage or a bent pin from the SCART cable of my Saturn fed into the...

NON-CRT Displays that support 15KHz and 25KHz resolutions

Model 2s seem to do that yeah. However, my video boards that I've had have balanced picture. In RGB mode of my Asus they look absolutely stunning.

NON-CRT Displays that support 15KHz and 25KHz resolutions

I apologize if this isn't wholly about the monitors themselves, but I ended up soldering some male Dupont cables to my Sega Model 2 monitor cable (5-pin JST NH) and I was actually able to plug the Dupont cables into the pins of a male VGA plug, then following the pinouts I got a signal directly...

Sega Model 2/3 A/B/C - CRX and how I stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb.

Update on my Model 2/3 collecting journey. Upon acquring a Manx TT ROM Board from Yaton to play with my setups, I discovered the game will not play properly when in a regular driving cab. I could be slightly wrong, but I believe the pinout for Manx is this: CN8 Pin 5 - 5v Pin 6 - Brake (Model 3...

Wave Runner Throttle Inverted in Model 3 Driving Setup

A little update. I found the best solution to easily swap between Wave Runner or regular Sega bike games. I've soldered two Dupont cables with a heatgun and self-solder connections on my wiring harness (added more wires so they can easily move around with the stack on the floor), where I can...

    FS: Sega Model 2 and 3 PCBs/Parts

Yeah, lots of salvageable parts that can be used to repair various other PCBs. I've upgraded to a full 1997 Harley LA Riders stack that is the original PCB that came with my stripped down cabinet/panel I bought from a friend. The original board I purchased from Yaton had several issues, so I...

    FS: Sega Model 2 and 3 PCBs/Parts

Hello everyone. I've decided to sell the following Model 2 and 3 Step 2.0/2.1 parts. These all will be great parts to use if anybody wants to fix their boards or add a new title to their Sega arcade collection. I've already got some of these listed on my eBay store but I'm sure many of you Model...

NON-CRT Displays that support 15KHz and 25KHz resolutions

My brother's got a BenQ GC2870 and a curved Samsung display as part of his gaming setup; I should give them a whirl when he's working. As a side story, the Gonbes's (unmodded) really have yucky input lag, that I've especially noticed in Sega Rally and Indy 500. The Asus is (edit) relatively low...

NON-CRT Displays that support 15KHz and 25KHz resolutions

Little bump but I love my Asus VG245 computer monitor for arcade stuff. I purchased mine from Best Buy in December 2019 when I was building a rig with my dad. It works with medium-resolution arcade games natively without issues, including Model 3. Even does 4:3 original aspect ratio. I should...

    Sega Rally Upright Up-Down Shifter

So Friday and yesterday, I had a go at hooking the Mad Catz MC2 up and the SR1995 shifter board, and while I have power to the gear stick and the small board, I was only able to get gears 3 and 4 recognized in test mode on both this game and Daytona 2. I checked my connections and they all...

    Sega Rally Upright Up-Down Shifter

Come to think of it, I looked at the type of connectors that CD-ROM cable used and they look to be Dupont cables. Those would be ideal, possibly. Then it's a matter of giving that board 5v and ground power to the 11-pin (CN2) output connector, right? Shouldn't be too hard as I found a useful...

    Sega Rally Upright Up-Down Shifter

Great stuff. I'll keep note of this and may fashion some connectors to get this powered up if I ever get the MC2 wired in the coming months. I think I could possibly plug some single black JST connectors in them, since the old school CD-ROM audio cable fits into the NH female connectors from...

    Sega Rally Upright Up-Down Shifter

Hi guys, Does anyone know about this small PCB that came inside the upright UK cabinet of Sega Rally 1995? This particular cabinet used a 2-way shifter going to that PCB, and appears to convert the data of 3 switches (pins 13, 14, and 15 of the 25pin connector), which the game used in the Twin...

PC/console controls that can be modded to work with arcade games via S-JIHP

Sounds about right. You will also most likely not have any dead zone as I've hacked a couple HKT-7400 Dreamcast wheels for Model 3 and they do not have any dead zones. Only the pots can be a little finicky if not insulated properly. :P

PC/console controls that can be modded to work with arcade games via S-JIHP

Great mods here. I have a general question about these old school console wheels though. Can a 3rd-party PS1 racing wheel be used for Naomi or Sega Model 2/3? I read those normally run on 3.3v as opposed to the Dreamcast controllers' 5v, but some of those actually have potentiometers for the...

Wave Runner Throttle Inverted in Model 3 Driving Setup

I really think fashioning up Molex connectors and crimping the wires via that would be the easiest. I've got a set of pin extraction tools (can dig up the exact one if one's interested) that work exceptionally well with molex pins. In the meantime I'm just using a junk harness from a...

Wave Runner Throttle Inverted in Model 3 Driving Setup

Hello everyone! Just a week ago I picked up a Wave Runner Model 2C PCB, manufactured on Christmas Eve 1998 (thank you Santa! :P), and I plugged my homemade Model 3 racing wheel (hacked Dreamcast HKT-7400) into the Model 2 successfully with the appropriate power! The game runs fine in a Model 3...

Sega Model 2/3 A/B/C - CRX and how I stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb.

Okay... I quickly realized that 5v and GND from both the 3-pin and 9-pin connectors of the Dreamcast Race Controller needed to be tied together, and then they go to the Model 3's filter board on CN 1 & CN 11 to their respective gnd, signal and 5v pins. To test, I quickly wired up one of the view...

Sega Model 2/3 A/B/C - CRX and how I stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb.

I quickly wired the buttons up to CN2 on the Model 3 as per the pinouts of this wiring diagram located on top of the wheel itself, and I haven't gotten any signal coming from any of the 5 switches on the controller. The pots I wired were working earlier though. I wonder if I mis-wired the...
