Namco System 246 emulation on PCSX2

Very interesting! At least you were able to answer this question that has been mind boggling me for quite a while lol! I knew about the whole ps2 SOG to RGBS conversion thing. I do plan on making a guide on all 2X6 hardware as I basically got all them and been studying them for a while :)

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

Hmm, that’s a bummer :( maybe you should still be able to add a windows 10 boot drive and it should work. Once I figure out the JVS part, I will try my best to share it with you guys. Also make sure to check your RAM and Graphics card as a faulty part could have tripped the bitlocker/TPM.

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

They should work as long as you have the files. There is technically no reason to have them on a USB drive but I thought it was a neat idea. The game files aren’t too big either (~15GB in size). I need to try the other files though.

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

Got Tekken 7 to boot off a 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive! Pretty cool! Even loads faster than the shitty mechanical HDD I have install lol! (Obviously it loads faster because it’s flash media). I really like the idea of having my own portable game drives. Just plug and play! I will experiment more...

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

As long as you can find a dump of it, it should run fine.

Yes, the version I got only has arcade mode, but no practice mode.

Namco System 246 emulation on PCSX2

I guess so, weirdly enough, the 246B wouldn’t boot fully if the Namco daughter board doesn’t detect a video signal coming from the PlayStation 2 motherboard. I’m not sure if the later 246C has this issue but the 246A/Driving variants don’t. Not sure if that would be another issue. 🤔

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

This may seem like a pretty dumb Idea but have you thought about reflashing the bios? Again, I don’t want you to brick your system :(

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

hmm that’s pretty interesting as before my original PC motherboard died I was able to go into the bios menu and installed a HDD with windows 7. Anyway I swapped out the board. Pretty interesting though 🤔 Jconfig is much better to use than Teknoparrot as you don’t have to wait for the TP UI to...

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

Here’s a video video of my system booting up, sorry for potato quality, should be in crispy 4K soon, just a little excited to share this! :) View: https://youtu.be/xrudlM1PY4o

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

The TPM can be disabled in the BIOS and a set of jumpers on the motherboard. The manual is online and I think it has the steps to disable TPM. https://www.supermicro.com/manuals/motherboard/B75/MNL-C7B75.pdf This is ONLY necessary if you want to change out or upgrade the RAM or graphics card...

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

I’m still trying to figure out some things out but what you can try is installing windows 10 or 7 on a fresh drive and see if your system will boot on it. It should work but if you want to upgrade/change out parts, you will need to disable TPM through the system BIOS. This step is necessary as...

[Taito Type X2] Flashing a GeForce 7900 with Elsa 979 BIOS

3 beeps sound like a memory error, possibly a VRAM issue on the Graphics card? Do you happen to see any other damage on the card?

    ES1 Dead Heat

Yep, the ES1 came stock with a GeForce 9600 GT. I recently sold some parts taken out from a Namco System ES1 running a Gundam game. I really don’t know much about this system but what I do know with the ES3 is if you want to change parts/upgrade, you can’t as the system has TPM enabled in the...

Niko's JVS tool (Source code inside)

@Niko will this JVS tool work on Jconfig? I want to be able to use my JVS I/O board for a build I'm currently working on. :)

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

Ok, so I've been messing around with JCONFIG and finally got it working with vanilla Tekken 7, it's a bit fiddly than Teknoparrot but loads much quicker.

Recently acquired a broken ES3, let’s try to “rebuild” it!

Hello everyone, as the title says, I recently got a Namco System ES3 that originally had Tekken 7. I got it for a deal as it was completely dead. The motherboard and the HDD didn't work but the i5-3550s and the 8GB of DDR3 RAM worked fine on a test rig. The GTX 760, well, I'll talk about that...

Naomi video on 15Khz looks pretty terrible

Yes, the system 12 games are either non interlaced (240p) or interlaced (480i) and can be set in the menu for certain games. Through JAMMA and the vga (in JAMMA MODE) the board will use composite sync, however if you hook up a JVS board, you have the additional settings of changing the sync...

Crisis Zone + 246 games IR led replacement tests - Work in progress

Thank you so much! If you ever want some high res pictures of the Crisis Zone gun, tell me as I have a brand new old stock gun. :) I’m in the process of remaking the Crisis Zone IR gun pcb, it’s basically the same thing as the tiny board but with the addition of the motor transistors. That’s the...
